# 10. Twiggy - Rings

 

 

In 1977 year my favourite singer of 70s decade released a cover version of Cymarron "Rings" as single in Germany.

 

It wasn't easy to select one song from her small, but good back catalogue. Twiggy recorded such pop beauties as "Fallen Angel", "A Woman In Love", "Here I Go Again", "Vanilla Olay", "Please Get My Name Right", "A Room In Bloomsbury", "Winter Wonderland" and some nice non-singles.

 

 

# 9. Ivana Raymonda Van Der Veen - Cherry On A Sunday

 

 

It's not a surprise for anybody, Dutch singer Ivana Raymonda Van Der Veen easily became my all-time # 1 favourite singer. She is beautiful, very talented hard-working and nice person. It's impossible to not be affected by her charm.

# 8. Janet Buterus - Flying Free

 

 

Janet Buterus is half-Lithuanian singer, who tried to represent Belarus on Eurovision many times. "Flying Free" was written by famous Swedish sisters Ylva and Linda, who wrote and produced 60 songs during 2013-2022 for Eurovision national selections in 18 different countries.

 

Wonderful ballad "Flying Free" was the winner of my Ideal Eurovision in 2020 year.

# 7. Hannah Graaf - Naughty Boy

 

 

Very stylish and old-fashioned "Naughty Boy" is my highlight from all Melodifestivalen history. As a part of duo with her sister Hannah Graaf recorded four singles in 1998-1999 year, including lovely "Heartbreaker".

 

 

# 6. Nataliya Vetlitzkaya - Slave of Love

 

 

In 90s decade Natalia Vetlitzkaya was a goddess of Russian pop music. Her 1995 hit "Slave of Love" is the best song, which was ever recorded on my native language.

# 5. Sinead Quinn - I Can't Break Down

 

 

In pre-Internet days (before 2012 year) "I Can't Break Down" was my all-time # 1 song. Sinead Quinn had the most impessive start in "Gražios Dainos" history, her debut single spent 10 weeks at # 1 and the follow-up "What You Need Is" had 7 weeks on top.

 

 

# 4. Bucks Fizz / allSTARS* / Blogos Mergaites - The Land of Make Believe

 

 

 

 

"The Land of Make Believe" became only one song in the history of my retrospective chart, which was # 1 in three different versions, when Blogos Mergaites got # 1 with "Norim Buti Vaikais" (cover on Lithuanian language). The combined result is 21 weeks at # 1 (!!!) - nine for Bucks Fizz, seven for allSTARS* and five for Blogos Mergaites. Original was my "Song of the Year" from 1981 year, allSTARS* cover version is my favourite single from 2002.

 

I adore all three versions and gave very rare, but deserved 10 / 10 score.

 

 

# 3. Sue Wilkinson - You Gotta Be A Hustler If You Wanna Get On

 

 

"Huster" is iconic minor hit (# 25 in UK) from 1980 year, which I discovered through one personal chart on UKMix forum ten years ago. Sue album "Looking For Cover" was uploaded on Youtube in the end of 2020 year.

 

All her other singles (Posers, Time'N'Tide, Women Only, Toy Boys) also reached # 1 in my chart.

 

 

# 2. YVA - Brunetes Blondines

 

 

This blonde ladies' anthem was the highlight in YVA career. "Brunetes Blondines" spent 11 weeks at # 1 in my chart. It was fantastic result for my all-time # 1 favourite act, who had 13 number ones hits.

# 1. Anmary - Beautiful Song

 

 

It was very predictable winner. Everything in "Beautiful Song" is a perfect level : singer, lyrics, vocals, staging (I prefer her NF final performance, but Eurovision version is good too).

 

It's a masterpiece and the best song, which was ever recorded. Possibly if you didn’t know it before, but both her NF performances were different.
