The way critics and the internet are coming together for this album feels like a Carly Rae Jepsen moment — it might not set the charts alight, but it has all the makings of a pop cult classic.

'Fantasy' sounds like such a smash in the context of the album. 'Unconditional' and 'Headache' both exist in some kind of Metronomy/CSS/Xenomania world — naturally obsessed with them. She is such a student of pop music 🖤

'Self Saboteur' is the one for me right now, though — the middle-eight fakeout, those notes during the extended outro, the way it segues into 'Lip Service'

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but the sample on 'Before You Break My Heart' takes me out completely. I love the dreamy soundscape, but the chorus is such a dud (which means it would probably smash oop)

This album is an absolute triumph. It’s amazing to see an artist with a distinct vision who manages to execute it perfectly.

Self Saboteur and Lip Service are on repeat for me. Slight kiii at Unconditional being #2 on the Spotify playlist when that’s the one song that does absolutely nothing for me.

Predictions for the Pitchfork score? I think 6.8 to 7.2. Would LOVE higher though.

I mean they gave Addison 8.0 and Sabrina 7.9. They can be very random. I don't trust them at all, but a high Pitchfork score could do wonders for her buzz this week.

But it also basically nullifies the effect of the Track 1 on the album. It's 'Angel' that is the biggest hit already, and the first all NEW track comes in the second half - people outside her fanbase will not probably even make that far. Usually only around half of the people who start listening to an album actually finishes it. Oh well..

It felt like a bit of an awkward listening experience having 7 songs I'm really familiar with, followed by 7 brand new ones I need to get used to.

I feel like it could have benefited from them being scattered around a bit.

I don't think Natural Disaster is about Jesy. It's too nasty, I don't think Jade would be that openly mean about Jesy.

Now we have the full album this is how I would have done the singles:

Angel Of My Dreams > Before You Break My Heart > FUFN > Fantasy (with album)

I think Plastic Box is amazing but just feels a little low key for a single. I think of all her actual singles FUFN would have benefitted the most from Hot Hits UK support and probably would have been a decent hit for her.

Natural disaster is my favourite song on the whole album!

Self Saboteur has improved so much! Only ones I’m not 100% on yet are Lip Service and Headache (both decent though and way better than the leaks).

Probably not all of it but some of it feels Jesy coded. And I mean a lot of people's minds are jumping to that so even if its about someone else you gotta be aware on some level it will come across that way.

Great song regardless. Best of the album for me.
