Wouldn’t be surprised if the first single is a collaboration with Bring Me The Horizon or they will at least feature on the album. They did say they were working on more music with Ed.
Westlife were in the studio recently too... Can we hope? :P
So Ed Sheeran to hog the No.1 spot for the next 6 to 12 months, by knocking himself off with every single release going. Love to see it... desperate... much -_- :drama: that could happen if he releases 2 albums this year. Mind you, not every track will reach the #1 spot I would imagine.

Im amazed the label is not worried with overexposure

a new album Collaboration 7 now and then another album (Edklore) in the fall sounds like overdose to me

with an album released every 6 months, he really wants to be the new Taylor :D

Difference is Taylor drops the album with a lead single on release day and doesn't do any more promo or any more singles. Crazy she didn't push Exile or Champagne Problems.

But Ed has been releasing singles like crazy for the last 9 months, Bad Habits, Shivers, Overpass Graffiti, the Xmas one, the Xmas one + Ladbaby, then Peru, then The Joker and the Queen. The label should be worried about saturation!

oh for f***s sake he can’t give us a break??

is this going to be “experimental” and “without promo” again ie radio friendly as possible and with huge playlist pushing?

he’s really after that Elvis number ones record so must have figured this is the best way to do it.

^yes and will not count as an album

I had always presumed the Elvis record would never get broken just due to the nature of the music industry nowadays wit a lot of super successful acts still having a shelf life and various other circumstances now like track limits & ACR rules but I hadn't noticed that Sheeran is already on 13 #1s so it's really not a stretch to think he could actually do it one day. Especially seeing as he himself has stopped 3 of his own songs going to #1 as well.

Oh not that debate again!

It’s obvious that No. 6 shouldn’t be considered alongside his “main” albums.

I'm sure he'll continue having #1s cos like it or not he knows how to play the chart game

and he would go to the lowest of the lowest points to grab a #1 (ie the Ladbaby collaboration)

Because Ed Sheeran doesn't have enough songs out at the moment..?

Imagine if the "curveball" is he is the "featured artist" on all the songs on the album and therefore dodges the 3-track rule

It depends, 'Joker' is a bomb outside of Amazon and iTunes despite Taylor being on it, on the other hand Peru is a hit because of Ed on it... Afterglow stalling at #2 and fading away quickly demonstrated that he can also underperform solo.
Joker & Queen is probably flopping just because it's a bad song (imo) regardless of if it's the Taylor remix or not lol, meanwhile Peru is a much better song (again imo) and that's been successful. I also wouldn't use Afterglow as an example of him underperforming, a random single with no promo dropped randomly in the middle of the week in the busiest time of the year still reaching #2 is more an example of his power on the charts I'd say.
^Afterglow was insta-added as track #1 on HH the minute it was released, no promo at all lol

Presumably Lewis Capaldi will occupy a spot but could this be an attempt to have the Top 3 positions on the 2022 year end chart? Either that or it's to clear his court fees!

I really liked the singles from '=' (yes, even 'The Joker & The Queen' I didn't find that bad, I think the production at least is good) but I'm not holding my breath on that continuing.

This could be the Irish album he was thinking of making I can remember him saying about it in an interview. Which would make sense when he says about it not being big in New Zealand but be a hit in another place.
