Despite giving it 6 points I don't actually remember the Mishkin Fitzgerald song very well oops, I will definitely relisten to it at some point because I obviously must have liked it a lot to give it so many points - looking back on my comments during the listenthrough I really liked the instrumentation on it apparently.

Cellar Darling is the only one of the 3 remaining contenders that I voted for but the other two were both commiserations, I'd be happy with a KennyHoopla win too.

Cellar Dancing stood out a mile from the rest as sonically more interesting but it's overlong. As to the rest, I'm not really a fan of the kind of Eurovision style metal, gentle alternative tunes and prog rock that made up the bulk, as good as they may be. I thought my top three were decent and I would have put Falling in Reverse in somewhere but just can't bring myself to endorse Ronnie Radke in any way. Sorry to whoever sent that in.

Nothing for Gang of Youths.

Unfortunately for 'DANCE', the eight for KennyHoopla just blocks it from the top.

RABBITFURCOAT IS THE WINNER

Congrats RFC :cheer: I'm fairly familiar with KennyHoopla and generally like what I've heard, this was 11th in my rank. Obviously it would've been great to see Cellar Darling win, my favourite of the whole contest, but 2nd is amazing for it anyway - especially after it took a while to get going on the scoreboard.

My song was never going to have across-the-board appeal but I'm so happy that the people who were into it really loved it  what a medal haul! Very pleased to have achieved a top 10 placing - I think that gives me a 50% rate of coming top 10 in Nuggets now.

Thank you for the excellent hosting blacksquare! I enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts and your own comments added in afterwards.

Congratulations to Rabbit! KennyHoopla's song is quite a nice one and one of the very few that I have known beforehand. Whoddy comes at a respectable 3rd! A bit surprised to see both Chez and Jade on the lower top 10... :o Expected a bit higher!

I will take it coming mid-table! It's quite a special song and definitely stands out from the rest of the bunch imo. Great to receive a 12-pointer from Roba as well! Bring on Unknown Pleasures as I have a song that I know someone on this forum would definitely hate. :kink: :kink: :teresa:

Thanks blacksquare for hosting! It's really nice to share my thoughts about the votes and why I chose my entry. I should do this more in future song contests here ;) Great presentation as well!

I'm glad to see a top two that I liked there, and also pleased to see Mishkin do ok. Thanks to anyone who gave her scores, I'm sure she'll be pleased.

Excellent hosting of course.

Look forward to the next one

More than half the songs received at least one twelve points — fourteen.

That was close! I'm quite happy with 2nd place as I'd won the last Unknown Pleasures. I would have been more disappointed if I had just missed out on that one as well.

Well done RabbitFurCoat on winning the contest.

Thanks to all who gave points to Cellar Darling and to Blacksquare for hosting.

Well 'DANCE' was my favourite of the top 3 so aw at that missing out but all 3 of those were great songs so can't argue with that really.

Probably should have sent the other Poets song now instead as maybe that would have done a bit better. Oh well.

Pools, Maria and CASHDIET too low imo even though they probably weren't going to set the board alight exactly either~

Congrats RFC! I must admit I don't immediately recall it, but it was just outside my votes looking back so I must have liked it somewhat! So close for Cellar Darling, but that's still a very respectable performance. I didn't mind the Gang of Youths song, but I agree with Bre earlier about it being a bit uninspired for this so I think that seems more fair x

Very pleased with another top 10 finish and quite a wide appeal across different voters which is great to see (edit: second highest number of voters yes *.), that's about the same as my last one did so I clearly have a good thing going with these rock instrumentals, maybe I'll actually chance it with some vocals next time? Honoured to finish just beside my 12 as well naturally x

Thanks to blacksquare for a great edition, I really enjoyed seeing everyone's thoughts on the entries, it really gets to the beauty of these contests <3

Aw I was excited thinking Cellar Darling had won for a second there without realising KennyHoopla was also in that top 3  Nevermind, as I said I'm pretty happy with Kenny as a winner as well, congratulations to RFC notching up another win, on a roll recently with you also winning Club Bizarre not long ago! (And looks like this makes you the first person to win Nuggets 3 times as well :o)

Thanks Severin for seeing me finish on a high, matching my highest points of the contest and climbing into the top 15 at the last second *.* I had hoped 'Loner' might be at least a top 10 for me but I'll take that after it looked like I was destined to languish right near the bottom of the heap for half of the reveal.

Cellar Darling, MASTER BOOT RECORD and And So I Watch You From Afar all finishing in the top 5 is a pretty solid result, happy enough with BRUIT ≤ being top 10 too even if not quite living up to the win predictions. A couple others in the lower top 10 that I voted for as well.

Thanks for the hosting blacksquare! And I hope it won't have to be another whole year until we get another one of these again this time...

RabbitFurCoat really knows the recipe for success! :D I’m glad to have assisted in a marginal way by handing you a single point, but I would have loved to see Dobbo snatch it after leading most of the evening. Thanks for those who gave some points to Pool too. Thanks in conclusion to blacksquare for hosting this contest. ^_^

Ha! I would have done it sooner but didn't realise I was allowed to — I think SevenSeize messaged at the end of January to let me know.

Hosting these things is fun — but so much work. I'm so impressed by the mods and members who do things like this continuously. I was too drained to even write proper commentary after fiddling around with the spreadsheet and then formatting everything.

(Oh, I'll happily make gifs and headers for your contest RabbitFurCoat x)

Thank you to everyone again who sent me commentary about their choices and favourites — long or short. They make these contests more personal and interesting to me, so thanks thanks thanks x

Congrats RFC! That KennyHoopla song was great, and I'm pleased some other of my faves (Nocturna and Gang Of Youths especially) did well.

I expected a lot lower than 13th after hearing the quality of the other entries so I'll definitely take that! Thanks to all Sigo's voters, I'm glad it found some fans ^_^ great hosting blacksquare, love the artsy vibe of that opening graphic and the commentaries were a nice touch

Cellar Darling was winning this right until the very last few votes — KennyHoopla just kept popping up but only Bjork gave it 12. I really thought Cellar Darling had it in the bag for the majority of the time.
Oh yes I enjoyed reading the commentaries as well (although found it mildly cringeworthy reading my own back oops!) so the encouragement to include those was definitely a nice touch.
