Not Diamante absolutely bombing RuPaul for Snatch Game, someone didn't get the AS3 memo :drama: At least we finally have our lipsync assassin!!

 

Sharonne did deserve that win but for me it's feeling like this season is ust made for her to win and the rest are along for the ride given they are pushing her SO much, and there's so much talent on display that they are kind of ignoring to give Sharonne unrelenting praise all the time. Like I said, she deserved this win, but when they've forced her into the top nearly every week, I appreciate it less when she does deserve it.

It's actually huge that she's only the second Ru girl after Envy to guest judge!! *.* This franchise has been really good in general at getting drag queens to actually judge which I think should be far more widespread.

I think Sharonne deserves her cred though! She still might end up going backwards from here like Angie or Lawrence tbh!

 

Poor Onyx, but it was refreshing that DRES didn't pull out the stops to save her & let us have a sad elimination!

 

Marina is becoming a real villain and I'm living. Also my god the werkroom fashion. Estrella and Juri are style icons! I also loved Sethlas genderless doll runway this ep

I can see Sharonne maybe being "only" safe next week for design/Ball where I'm really rooting for Juriji to get a win as I think she has the best sense of style of this cast. It would be great for her trajectory and hopefully propel her into the final. Marina potentially could win a Ball but I feel like she overthinks her looks and not all of it translates to something mind blowing or as impressive as she feels it is.

 

Sharrone deserved her credit for this week for sure, and the Rusical and maybe the comedy improv thing, but the first two weeks were a reach imo especially with the high standard of the talent show, and now finding out her blackface past makes that act seem a bit.. iffy to say the least :lol: Like I said it just feels at this point like she's already won and everyone else is along for the ride, which if this wasn't such a good cast and solid season could be another AS5 situation.

onyx was not the worst in snatch game or the lipsync so i am really sad to see her go :( just before the BALL too.

 

here for estrella and estrella ONLY now, the cast is so strong tho. really enjoying venedita though i fear its mostly because i have a crush. juriji is sleepwalking and needs to wake up imo, struggling to love her as much as everyone else!

I really thought Juriji could get a Ball win but Sethlas absolutely DEMOLISHED!! That last look was breathtaking. Venedita was brilliant too, I really love that she is clearly informed by fashion but also really rips the piss out of it, and it comes together to form this really unique style. Juriji was also very strong this week, she tied the stories of each look together really well in a way that was so uniquely her.

Diamante was actually done SO dirty here, I don't know how she even remotely deserved bottom here?! I mean maybe low but I still think Sharonne could have been there (maybe I'm just biased lmao). Estrella was clearly the worst sadly this week.

 

Choriza absolutely slayed as a judge!! She's just such an absolute star and sweetheart.

None of her looks hit the mark as they should, and the others were just even worse than her! Diamante was the right person to go, just not got much taste at all and a one size fits all runway walk that doesn't let you actually take in the garment. Estrella was objectively the worse but glad to see her stay another week, she is the personality of the season and it won't feel the same if she had left.

yesss i was saying this too. she needs to learn to adapt her walk to best show off a garment. her first look was like a mosque flying around in a tornado, we just had no opportunity to appreciate it properly.

Yesssss, I think like I was saying before, it's another case of you just knowing what you're going to get from her every single time. Even if that something is good, it just means she's missing that oomph or spark. And if you're doing a reveal,you need that surprise factor and something better underneath or there's no point in doing it. One good outfit looks so much better than a good outfit that you mar with a half assed reveal, because you just remember the disappointment of the second half. I wish she was in the critiques to at least be told that this week

Unabashedly loving this season. Juriji is giving me everything although she's been kinda hit and miss at the challenges. Would love to see Estrella rebound and put up a fight against Sharonne!

I'm assuming that there will be some form of comedy or stand-up challenge which I assume Estrella has in the bag, this week seems like her bag too. It would be great if Estrella or Venedita/Sethlas grab another win without Sharonne having one so it evened out, but I also NEED Juriji to nab one D: If there's a makeover I am wondering if that might be Sharonne's vulnerability low/bottom 2 moment, Estrella would almost certainly be bottom for that too I'd have thought and that could be a full circle moment with those two as they had the Rusical and improv where they were tied together with their roles!

 

I actually haven't looked at spoilers for this season for once, loving it too and I think it will go down as my fave international season behind TH2 and UK2!!

How are they going to literally say "Sharonne's runway was shit but let's give her a win anyway" :lol: And they were all dying laughing the entire time at Juriji and Venedita! I just don't get it really, especially when they had better runways. I feel like especially Venedita deserved the win as that was something different from her and she matched Juriji really well, it was OTT and outlandish but it was definitely the funniest! I thought Estrella and Sharonne played it a bit safe, like it was funny, it was professional, but I liked that Venedita and Juriji was more outlandish and over the top with it.

 

It's a roast of the S1 girls too next week so that's 4 wins for Sharonne I expect :/ Her blackface is making it really hard to root for her at all and it's marring a season that's been great so far because it feels like an AS5 kind of situation where the season is just made for her no matter what.

 

On a lighter note, who expected Marina to give the lipsync of the season?! Finally she did SOMETHING :lol:

España continues to go from strength to strength with fair judging.

 

Surely next week Sharonne will finally find a flaw? Marina might end up going all the way now! Kinda expect her villain edit to rear back up next ep after she got a bit of a reprieve this time!

Part of me thought Sharonne should have won, the polish and professionalism being a bit much that is usually a neagtive for me I think was a real strength in this roast as she had a structured and smart set, although the judges were right in that it was what you expected and very in her comfort zone, which was a drawback. Whereas Marina pulled off a surprise and some oomph/pizazz to it.

 

Estrella was decent too but I think she is better outside of the Drag Race box in her own thing than she is when there's a challenge that's structured and you have to do a certain thing. She's funnier, warmer and more likeable than anyone on this cast could ever even hope to be though, and that's something you can't teach or grow into, she has that star quality.

 

I wish Venedita and Juriji could have been a double shantay, wasn't ready to lose either D: Juriji wasn't terrible at the roast, but Venedita definitely fell off this week. Brilliant lipsync, and I think the only one that has been really good on both parts other than Estrella/Diamante and Onyx/Diamante.

I was fully expecting a double shantay for some reason, I was really seeing Sharonne and Estrella ending up in the bottom together and having a friendship double shantay after their shared win and working together for a couple of challenges, as it felt like they were less likely to do well at a looks challenge than Marina or Estrella. Marina making the final is giving me Karen From Finance but she's one of the best lipsyncers of the season at least which I really didn't expect.

 

Meh anyway, this is the most foregone conclusion finale ever with Sharonne's track record. She has done well throughout the season, although I do think the first few episodes she was pushed with an inflated track record (she could have been SAFEx3 and I wouldn't have batted an eyelid, maybe not being high for the improv is a stretch). And I find it really hard to be at all excited by a season that is a foregone conclusion like this, it was the same last year with Carmen but Carmen had so much more spark, and... you know didn't do blackface :lol:

Marina KILLED the lipsync. I kinda think she was unfortunate to be in the bottom this week, Estrella was the clear worst and then Sharonne lucked out by getting to work with the fashion designer.

 

This episode actually gave me shades of Thailand 2's makeover where the 'family' storyline seemed to be what they were judging most strongly on. Once again, Sharonne got high marks for her sister holding her hand through the whole performance - but to me she was clearly making sure she didn't fall! which would have immediately knocked her out.

 

It would've been nice to see Sharonne have a moment of weakness but I can't knock her tbh. I wonder if a strong frontrunner/'mother' figure might be a staple of Spanish reality tv given that it's happened in both seasons now - which would go a way to explain the dominance of Sharonne/Carmen. Maybe the others are always meant to be there learning from the master, to a Spanish audience.
