January 22, 200718 yr I'm so glad you posted that. I was gonna buy the album but i'm definitley not now as from what I listened it was awful and its put me off the band completley. Someone posted somewhere that it was the best album since 'WEPSIA, TWIN.' I still haven't listened to it but I have a feeling that it's a very over-rated comment as it would have to be one of my favourite albums for that to happen and as good as The View are I'm not that big a fan judging by the singles purely alone, however maybe the album can change that.

There were one or two decent songs but overall I thought it was awful.
January 22, 200718 yr Well i've thought all the singles were decent but I just thought the album was poor on the whole. There were one or two decent songs but overall I thought it was awful. Maybe it's a grower like 'Same Jeans,' was to me? I guess I can only judge when I have heard the album myself really.
January 22, 200718 yr Maybe it's a grower like 'Same Jeans,' was to me? I guess I can only judge when I have heard the album myself really. Well it may be a grower but all the singles apart from Superstar Tradesman i've liked from the first time i've heard them, and I gave all the songs on the album a listen and with the exception of maybe one or two I thought the rest were really bad.

If that's the case then I guess there's not much of a sucessful future for The View then?
January 22, 200718 yr If that's the case then I guess there's not much of a sucessful future for The View then? Well I still think they'll be big as the hype of Same Jeans will carry the album but well my own personal opinion of the album is that it's c**p, but then some people will probably say its brilliant.

I'm not sure why 'Same Jeans,' was the first big hit for them as they had been just as well publicised previously, whether it's a more radio-friendly track than the previous singles and was a track that not only the alternative tv stations could play I'm not sure.

I aim to...er...please?! Bought the album today, and , unsurprisingly... I like it ^_^ Upon initial listening i'd give it 8/10, and whoever said it was better than the Arctic's debut was quite frankly talking out of their arse. It's good, but not great -_- The better non-singles are the ones where he sings in a really strong scottish accent
January 22, 200718 yr In all honesty as much as I want The View's album I am looking forward to Klaxons much more.
January 23, 200718 yr I bought the album today. It's impressed me. Not the best album in the world, but good enough to tide me over in this quiet part of the year!
January 23, 200718 yr I bought the album today. It's impressed me. Not the best album in the world, but good enough to tide me over in this quiet part of the year! I think I'm about the same - some enjoyable songs, some pretty average to be honest, but overall I liked it.
January 24, 200718 yr I'm not fussed about this whatsoever. It's just dull watered down indie for mainstream, commercial radio. Wasted Little DJs was a hell of a lot better! i like this, even tho dont think i'l buy the album off straight away. wait till its £3. esp if its supposed to be as average as the reviews have said.
January 24, 200718 yr I bought the album today. It's impressed me. Not the best album in the world, but good enough to tide me over in this quiet part of the year! the press make it say if you've got any indie album from the last 20 years like Oasis, the La's etc etc you dont need this as it is so derivative. stick with the single.
January 29, 200718 yr F*cking amazing. And we can actually DECIPHER what's being said which is always a good thing. Can you? Good mumbling nonetheless.
January 30, 200718 yr 'Same Jeans' is a nice pop ditty - but I preferred it when it was called 'Brimful of Asha' :P I heard the album today - not an original thought from start to finish....
January 30, 200718 yr If that's the case then I guess there's not much of a sucessful future for The View then? suppose if there's something to write about them in the gossip pages of the press they will have a future. can coast with the tunes for a while
February 6, 200718 yr This song reminds me of Cornershop's "Brimful Of Asha" If you took BOA lyrics and layed them on top of this instrumental I'd hardly tell the difference
