December 21, 200618 yr You and all the other apologists are totally missing the point... As has been stated by Kaiser Chiefs themselves.... THEY DID NOT OBJECT TO GIRLS ALOUD COVERING THE SONG IN PRINICIPLE, THEY OBJECT TO THE CHANGE IN THE LYRICS!!! WHICH CLEARLY IS WITHOUT THE BAND'S PERMISSION..... Sorry for the bold capitals, but it really is the fundamental point of this whole farrago, the question is, did Girls Aloud or their managers obtain permission from Kaiser Chiefs or their management to change the lyrics of the song...? Clearly, they did not.. Ergo, they are totally in the wrong.... They obviously got the rights to change the lyrics. KaiserChiefs probably didn't know coz their managment looks like $h!t, but putting a cover with lyrics changing on a CD would be impossible without the permission from the record company.
December 21, 200618 yr Oh Puh-leeeeeze, and Sarah Harding stripping off for some lingerie company isn't gonna cause offence to the 'little girls'???? Bullsh!t..... KC probably didn't make a fuss about it 'months ago' because, funnily enough, they probably have better things to do than listen to some bullsh!t girl band's new CD... (such as record an album perhaps????) Girls Aloud want to 'get a life' and stop p!ssing on other people's talent... And with the amount of teenage pregnancy in this country the bloody well should be encouraging their fans to use condoms. For some reason it's some kind of taboo yet young girls NEED to be taught, not leave it out ffs!
December 21, 200618 yr girls aloud couldnt write a song. never. their talentless idiots anmd if i had my way id have put down OR sent to the abattoir. their so iratating. kaiser chiefs are the highlight of any festival and are 1000000 x better than girls aloud. id like to see them play their own instruments!!! i really cant understand how people can like them, their so embarresin, same old stupid pop songs.....god i hate them

There're loads of brillant acts who don't play instruments. And do we ask KC to dance? We (fortunately) don't. ^_^

KaiserChiefs probably didn't know coz their managment looks like $h!t, but putting a cover with lyrics changing on a CD would be impossible without the permission from the record company. I dont give a sh!t if they got permission from B-Unique/EMI or not, the Kaisers themselves are the ones objecting... Bottom line - the artist should have the very last say over what happens to their songs - KC's record company are in the wrong, Louis Walsh and Slags Aloud are in the wrong for changing it, record company permission or no, the Kaisers themselves ARE IN THE RIGHT because they clearly haven't been told what was really going on.... THAT is the fundamental point that everyone seems to bloody dense to figure out.... <_<
December 21, 200618 yr And do we ask KC to dance? We (fortunately) don't. ^_^ Oh, aye, because gyrating about a bit really equates to having skill as a musician and good songwriting skills dunnit...?
December 21, 200618 yr And with the amount of teenage pregnancy in this country the bloody well should be encouraging their fans to use condoms. For some reason it's some kind of taboo yet young girls NEED to be taught, not leave it out ffs! Exactly. Sarah Harding stripping off and promoting promiscuity seems perfectly okay thing for her to encourage her teenage fans to do, but god fukkin' forbid the kiddies hear the word 'condom' coming out of the mouths of their idols.... <_< Girls Aloud = promotion of promiscuity and dressing like a tart Kaiser Chiefs = promotion of safe sex... Hmmmm, I reckon if I had a teenage daughter I'd rather she listened to Kaiser Chiefs anyday....
December 21, 200618 yr other people are aloud their opinions you know The word is 'allowed' by the way.... Have your opinion, just dont expect it NOT to be challenged...
December 21, 200618 yr The word is 'allowed' by the way.... Have your opinion, just dont expect it NOT to be challenged... must have had girls aloud on the brain lmao
December 24, 200618 yr Girls Aloud = promotion of promiscuity and dressing like a tart Kaiser Chiefs = promotion of safe sex... To be honest I think that just says it all ^
December 27, 200618 yr Exactly. Sarah Harding stripping off and promoting promiscuity seems perfectly okay thing for her to encourage her teenage fans to do, but god fukkin' forbid the kiddies hear the word 'condom' coming out of the mouths of their idols.... <_< Sarah Harding stripping off??? who'd have thought
December 27, 200618 yr Really...? No wonder it's so sh!t then... To be honest, it looks to me like you use every chance you get to take a jibe at the band..its people's tastes..deal with it. -_-
December 27, 200618 yr To be honest, it looks to me like you use every chance you get to take a jibe at the band..its people's tastes..deal with it. -_- Let me get this straight - I DO NOT CARE ABOUT GIRLS ALOUD.... What concerns me is the fact that they chose to completely disrespect another band by changing the lyrics to their song without asking the BAND CONCERNED THEMSELVES (ie, not managers, not record companies. All it would've taken was a phone call to Kaiser Chiefs to ask if it was cool....)... And then to say that somehow saying the word 'condom' was going to psychologically scar their young, "impressionable" teenage fans while at the same time certain members going off and posing provocatively in their bras and knickers for the titilation of sad old men (and considering these shots of Sarah Harding have been up on various Internet sites - including the Blueyonder Home Page no less - no doubt many of these 'impressionable teenage fans' have seen them also..) smacks of an utter double standard.... And if you dont see that, then you are a fool. Liking a band does not mean you cannot question or criticise them mate.... I like (well, used to anyway..) Marilyn Manson, but believe me, I did not hesitate to criticise his cover versions of "Tainted Love" and "Personal Jesus", which were utter travesties....
