December 19, 200618 yr scott is absolutely spot on, wether or not you like the kc they had every right to be p1ssed off.
December 19, 200618 yr There's a live version from Wembley on the second CD of Girls Aloud's 'Greatest Hits' so somebody must have agreed something with someone at some point.
December 20, 200618 yr There's a live version from Wembley on the second CD of Girls Aloud's 'Greatest Hits' so somebody must have agreed something with someone at some point. But did they agree on the actual lyric change though...? I very much doubt that KC themselves listen to GA on a regular basis... Someone probably told them what GA did, but it was after the fact and too late to do anything about it... I reckon that this was all agreed by the managers and the record companies, with minimal input from KC themselves... This is why I'll always argue that bands really need to take their own destinies in hand and just go out on the Internet and sell their music there and just tell the middle-men to fukk off....
December 20, 200618 yr I reckon that this was all agreed by the managers and the record companies, with minimal input from KC themselves... Well then maybe they need new management if they're that bothered ;) as you said, if it means that much to them, they'd sort it out themselves instead of having suits do it ...
December 20, 200618 yr If GA are so bothered about their young fans tell me why Sarah Harding's stripping off for some lingerie company.....? Doesn't square up dude.... wasnt Sarah Harding a high street honey in fhm to start off with anyway. probs no surprises there then!!! anyway (apart from Sound Of The Underground obv as no one heard the original) all the GA covers have been $h!te! please make them stop. Xenomania origs = good. covers = baaaad!!! then again i hope all this type of 'ironic' 'live lounge' cover versh trend stops for 2007 (esp when its fricking Gold Digger!!!)

Happen they do, doesn't excuse what Slags Aloud did for one bloody second though does it...? Like I said, not really a KC fan, but I'm on their side...
December 20, 200618 yr Kaiser Chiefs are managed by Simon ex of Menswe@r. That alone is reason enough to get new management! Yeah...if the Kaisers weren't on B-Unique they'd have had more input, there'd have been more care and it wouldn't simply have been a case of "how much money"? B-Unique are a pretty crummy label really.

B-Unique are a pretty crummy label really. Aren't 'B-Unique' just some branch of EMI or some other big label though....? They're managed by one of these bloody MENSWEAR tossers!!!!????  Ditch him guys....
December 20, 200618 yr GA team is not that silly, if they put it on the GreatestHits it means they've got the rights to do it. If KaiserChiefs managment is $h!t and didn't tell the band, it doesn't concern GA.
December 20, 200618 yr They actually have written their own stuff...so your kind of eating your words there. Really??? What singles have they written by themselvs
December 20, 200618 yr I would be mad if someone covered my song without asking. Especially if they changed the lyrics and were such a different genre from me.
December 20, 200618 yr I cannot stand the kaiser's but they are in the right. They did not slave making a song only for someone to come along, without permission, and then actually change lyrics?!
December 20, 200618 yr I cannot stand the kaiser's but they are in the right. They did not slave making a song only for someone to come along, without permission, and then actually change lyrics?! Once again GA have sure got the permission from the record company!! And I don't think they have the phone numer of the KaiserChiefs, so it's normal that if they have the permission from the record company, it's generally mean that the company talked about it to KaiserChiefs. If the record company didn't, it's not the fault of GA, KaiserChiefs should employ a better team.

If the record company didn't, it's not the fault of GA, KaiserChiefs should employ a better team. You and all the other apologists are totally missing the point... As has been stated by Kaiser Chiefs themselves.... THEY DID NOT OBJECT TO GIRLS ALOUD COVERING THE SONG IN PRINICIPLE, THEY OBJECT TO THE CHANGE IN THE LYRICS!!! WHICH CLEARLY IS WITHOUT THE BAND'S PERMISSION..... Sorry for the bold capitals, but it really is the fundamental point of this whole farrago, the question is, did Girls Aloud or their managers obtain permission from Kaiser Chiefs or their management to change the lyrics of the song...? Clearly, they did not.. Ergo, they are totally in the wrong....
December 21, 200618 yr Oh look someone has a comeback album due out early 2007 :smoke: Ye, and they just happen to say something about it now even when they covered the song many months ago if they were that bothered by it why did they not say something immediatley, they want to get a life. plus they probz changed the lyrics not to offend some of their fans ie. little girls etc. i dont see whats so wrong about that.

Oh Puh-leeeeeze, and Sarah Harding stripping off for some lingerie company isn't gonna cause offence to the 'little girls'???? Bullsh!t..... KC probably didn't make a fuss about it 'months ago' because, funnily enough, they probably have better things to do than listen to some bullsh!t girl band's new CD... (such as record an album perhaps????) Girls Aloud want to 'get a life' and stop p!ssing on other people's talent...
