Above All Else' is a deep and delicately dreamy breaks-driven track. Layers of swelling, sweeping synthesisers intwined with deftly manipulated vocals, shape an intricate soundscape that envelops the listener on an emotive journey. It's already seen an inclusion in Prospa's Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1.

The Small-Scale Experimental Machine EP (and the SSEM Records label) is named after the world's first stored-program computer. A machine that Lawrence Hart's Grandfather developed, working alongside the likes of Alan Turing. And it was the same Grandfather who gifted Lawrence his first musical instrument as a child, handing down both his love for music and passion for technology.

Lawrence’s has recently amassed sweeping support across BBC Radio 1 (Annie Mac, Pete Tong - including 'Essential New Tune', Danny Howard, Jack Saunders, Jaguar, Sarah Story, Arielle Free, Jess Iszatt, Connor Coates, Vicky Hawkesworth), 6Music, Radio 1 Dance, Kiss FM, Rinse FM and across specialist radio.

He has earned props from peers such as Martin Garrix, Prospa, Sub Focus, Sister Bliss, Anja Schneider, Elderbook, Sasha and Dixon, whilst receiving repeated support from the likes of Ministry of Sound, Anjunadeep and Toolroom.

During this EP campaign, Lawrence has also been busy on remix duties - for Lau.ra’s ‘Body Go’ (the remix widely supported, including 30+ BBC Radio 1 plays), and a remix for Foals’ ‘Wake Me Up’ (the lead single from their upcoming album).

Lawrence Hart has worked and collaborated with some of the most exciting names in electronic music. What drives the desire of his peers to work with him is exhibited in every aspect of his music.

After the fantastic Within These Walls and LDN VBZ, Lawrence has dropped this short 2nd EP. Looks like Above All Else is being pushed as the next single. It's great, and Reach Out sounds kool too but works more as an interlude.

The new ones are a bit disappointing after the solid bangers of “LDN VBZ” and “Within These Walls” but still a good EP overall. : )

I missed 'Within These Walls' when it first came out but belatedly checked it out with the rest of the EP following 'LDN VBZ' being in BJSC - this is a really solid EP, am liking 'Above All Else' a lot as well, 'Reach Out' is a little weaker than the other 3 though.

I realised the other day that there was another song from him that I enjoyed last year as well, for some reason the name wasn't ringing a bell in BJSC though oops!
