Join us this afternoon on our journey through 2002 and 2003 Number Ones.

If you're a millennial chart freak like me you'll be in heaven. There'll be evergreen songs and also some stupid mistakes in there. I had a dilemma over where to start but I've decided to start at 3:55 sharp and repeat both the posthumous #1s from Aaliyah and George Harrison!

I only really like the first 3 :)
Yeah that certainly is a weaker selection than last week's - 'White Flag' definitely needs its chance after not making the cut last week, I think my other 2 picks would be 'Milkshake' and then either 'The Show' or 'Love Machine' (because either of those are a vast improvement on all the other GA songs we'll be getting in the actual #1 listenthroughs).
My own picks are IBIATCL and Can't Stand Me Now. I guess we're not treating the Elvis songs which reached #2 on reissue in isolation, so another opportunity to hear Are You Lonesome Tonight, and next week (You're The) Devil In Disguise, has escaped us. Fortunately, we'll be finishing on a high with our chosen #3...
Apologies that I couldn't make yesterday's session! Just caught up on the list and I ended up hearing 'Toxic' and 'Lola's Theme' IRL over the weekend anyway *.* should be back this week. ^_^

Oh didnt know we could relisten?

My internet died out of the blue towards the end so missed the last bit

Oh I meant that I had a look over the list of #1s that I would've missed, on the OCC website! Bray told me you guys got up to U2 - 'Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own'.

Hearing 'Toxic' and 'Lola's Theme' was unrelated at a barbecue

No worries both - there were some greats like Lola’s Theme and Toxic but it definitely had its fair share of stinkers and more! We think the quality is starting to improve from next week.

We had a good sets of extras played in the end though:

White Flag

Milkshake

I Believe In A Thing Called Love

Hey Ya!

Somebody Told Me

I’m planning to do a timetable for the rest of the sessions - there’s one week in August I’ll need to skip but may just get done by the end of September!

Didnt realise we were close to the end!! (Kinda)
I've just prepped the #1s' chart runs for this Sunday, and have to say it's a much better selection than last week. (Even allowing for a couple of obvious contenders for the worst #1s' list :kink: )

As the end is beginning to come into sight I’ve done a proper plan for the remaining sessions. I think we can get it done in 9!

24 July: Early 2005 - Late 2006

31 July: Late 2006 - Early 2009

7 August: Early 2009 - Summer 2010

14 August: sorry need to skip this week

21 August: Summer 2010 - Early 2012

28 August: Early 2012 - Spring 2013

4 September: Spring 2013 - Summer 2014

11 September: Summer 2014 - Late 2016

18 September: Late 2016 - Late 2019

25 September: Late 2019 - Now

I believe I can do the August bank holiday but if others can’t we can skip that week and finish at the beginning of October instead!

Edited by JulianT

My choices are: When You Were Young (not the Adele song from '25'), Somewhere Else, and Everytime We Touch which I believe is another Bré favourite...

My two choices rhyme - Gorillaz and Killers.

I shall be on holiday for the 21 and 28 August so wouldn't mind if the bank holiday weekend is skipped.

the best #2 on the list is Corinne Bailey Rae - Put your records on

followed by Rihanna-Unfaithful and Gorillaz-Feel Good Inc

but probably won't be able to listen this week :/

Any more nominations?

By the way it’s probably worth asking again now - would people prefer a later slot on the Sunday like 7-10?
