Posted May 20, 20223 yr 15th May 2022 It's a new entry at for Estonia's under-performing brilliant Eurovision entry, it suffered from being on last as everyone buggered off to the toilet or to make a cup of tea. It's got 50's twangy guitar vibes but is a strong song of Hope. It's been over a decade since Eurovision had 2 tracks top my charts from the same competition. Meanwhile Gigliola Cinquetti's touching comeback after 58 years to sing Non Ho L'Eta Per Amarti gives me the perfect excuse to finally chart what was my first fave Eurovision song back when I was 6 and give her a follow-up chart entry to 1974's Go (Si) when she came 2nd to Abba. New at 4, with the whole top 5 sounding brilliant to me right now. New at 7 Sweden's Eurovision entry does well again, while Czech Republic are new at 13 with a banging dance tune that suffered from being first on, everyone had forgotten it by voting time. It's almost as if Italy was trying to do in some rivals, what with that batch of dull ballads and then a batch of competing uptempo tracks in with a shot. Anyway, Subwoolfer with Ben from A1 also pop in lower down for Norway, wolf masks and all. I mean it's no Caught In The Middle, but it's fun and his first chart visit for 20 years. Liam Gallagher invokes the spirit of bruv Noel's Setting Sons collab with Chemical Brothers, which should piss him off nicely, new at 57, Dave Stewart makes a chart comeback for the first time in about 20 years with a quaint and charming old-fashioned song from a forthcoming musical, and extends his chart run to 43 years. She still sounded lovely almost 60 years on! Elsewhere in the world of Eurovision I also enjoyed Stefan's closer in the grand finale, good choice of #1. 'Hold Me Closer' was fab too! Great chart ^_^

I have to say the moment I broke down in tears though was when Maneskin did the snippet of If I Can Dream. That caught me unawares, it's going to be one of mum's 3 funeral songs next week, she loved it, I loved it when I was a kid, it's my brothers all-time fave record and mum was listening to it and other Elvis classics on the day she died. So it was a bit of a "woah" moment that they were asked to do it for the Elvis bio movie just now for me. And now Maneskin top your charts too! Thanks again B-)

Hope just does it for me, twangy guitars, cowboys, positive message and at least 3 classy hooks, with the big one teasing you waiting for it :lol: It's a shame Sam couldnt get quite get to number one, but 2 is amazing for a UK entry, 26 years since we did that well chartwise. I genuinely think it will prob be rated the best UK entry ever. Ah, another Gigliola lover, seems there's a little cult clique of fans on BJ :yahoo: Sandie Shaw is back as it was out on World Record Day and made the sales chart, just a shame it didnt get any radio play as a result! Still enjoy seeing her writhing on the floor on Top Of The Pops :D And TBH I never thought I'd hear of anything from A1 ever again so the wolf is an amusing coda to their career :lol: Thanks as always for the support!
