Posted May 23, 20223 yr Greetings, everyone! :hi: It's been 2 years since I made my first personal chart on Crownnote. Last December, I decided to go back to July 2018, when I started becoming a music chart fan, to put every discoveries I discovered back then in charts. I didn't write or type my old charts like what other people did, so all of my 2018 and 2019 charts were written last December. Most of these upcoming top fives are likely against Buzzjack's taste, so I hope you can discover something here. Stay tuned! Edited October 26, 20222 yr by Cowborn
May 23, 20223 yr Author George Ezra – Shotgun Homegrown alligator, see you later Date entered: 07/07/2018 Chart run: 15-6-5-6-12-13-15-19-19-18-21-22-25-25-29-32-36-41-45-50-xx [20 weeks] Video: aAiVsqfbn5g Commentary Let’s start this list with one of the most popular songs in 2018. “Shotgun” is still Ezra’s only number-one song in the UK. It also peaked #1 in Australia, but it failed to continue Budapest’s success in Billboard Hot 100.
May 24, 20223 yr Author Tiësto & Matisse & Sadko – Dawnbreaker Date entered: 07/07/2018 Chart run: 5-7-9-11-14-15-18-22-23-28-26-31-33-34-37-42-45-48-49-xx [19 weeks] Video: H5f-NXUvle0 Commentary Taken from Tiësto’s I Like It Loud EP, “Dawnbreaker” is still Tiësto's only song that reached the top 5 on my personal charts. Luckily, 3 of his hits before “The Business” were still able to reach the top 40. “God Is A Dancer” peaked at #25, “Ritual” peaked at #20, and “Jackie Chan” peaked at #6. May 25, 20223 yr Author Didi Kempot – Pamer Bojo Cidro janji, tegane kowe ngapusi Date entered: 14/09/2019 Chart run: 5-21-33-45-xx [4 weeks] Video: 3y9pS3qqzMA Commentary It’s definitely one of the most unexpected songs peaking at #5. Didi Kempot is one of Indonesian legendary singers since the ‘80s. “Pamer Bojo” was released in 2016, but didn’t get a lot of attention until 2019. It was the year when Mas Didi became one of the top 5 most popular Indonesian live musicians. In March 2020, he was able to collect IDR7,6B (£412,7K) from a 3-hour live charity concert for those who were affected by COVID-19. 2 months after the virtual concert, Mas Didi died at the age of 53.
May 25, 20223 yr Author Andy Grammer – Don't Give Up On Me I'll reach my hands out in the dark and wait for yours to interlock, I'll wait for you Date entered: 02/03/2019 Chart run: 39-34-26-20-17-15-8-5-5-7-8-10-14-14-16-24-30-43-xx [18 weeks] Video: ouEezpuPc3A Commentary I didn’t come for Five Feet Apart because I haven’t watched the movie yet. I’m quite a fan of Andy Grammer’s vocals. This, “Honey, I’m Good”, “Fresh Eyes”, “Back Home”, and “I Found You (with Cash Cash)” are my personal favorites. Really hoping I can enjoy his newer stuff in the future.
May 25, 20223 yr Author Marshmello ft. A Day to Remember – Rescue Me Lines in the sand only you can read. My S.O.S., yeah, you rescued me Date entered: 22/06/2019 Chart run: 34-20-18-13-7-10-9-11-5-10-14-21-26-33-41-48-xx [16 weeks] Video: lPDw1QexVy4 Commentary I’m not a fan of ADTR’s music, so I don’t know how true fans reacted to “Rescue Me”. It was a solid combination between Marshmello’s classic trap-EDM and ADTR’s rock stuff. It’s also the only Joytime III song that entered my chart—I wish I didn’t forget “Angklung Life”, Mello's collaboration with Wiwek.
May 28, 20223 yr Author W&W, Blasterjaxx – Let The Music Take Control Let the music take control, bass! Date entered: 25/05/2019 Chart run: 5-8-7-8-12-11-10-15-21-8-15-18-23-30-33-36-45-xx [17 weeks] Video: pZvz4X_ayQ4 Commentary 2018-2020 was the easiest year for big room music. Almost 90% of the tracks debuted at least on the top 20. “Let The Music Take Control” was the third collaboration of W&W and Blasterjaxx after “Rocket” and “Bowser”. It still sounds pretty good in 2022, unlike their latest collaboration “Dynamite (Bigroom Nation)”, which sounds generic.
May 28, 20223 yr Author BUNT. ft. Beginners – Young Hearts (BUNT. Remix) Ask anyone life goes fast, faster when you're older Date entered: 20/04/2019 Chart run: 49-42-32-19-15-12-10-10-11-9-6-5-6-11-11-11-13-14-16-21-23-24-31-30-39-xx [25 weeks] Video: fJP1caxDjgg Commentary It was released in 2017, but thanks to Spotify Ads, it managed to debut in 2019. It ran even better on the charts thanks to the Indonesians who made a lot of Spotify Premium Ad parodies called Spotify Pantura.
May 29, 20223 yr Author Imagine Dragons – Natural That's the price you pay, leave behind your heart and cast away Date entered: 04/08/2018 Chart run: 25-20-21-17-12-9-7-8-10-14-10-5-7-5-6-8-9-12-13-21-23-25-28-33-37-41-48-50-xx [28 weeks] Video: 0I647GU3Jsc Commentary Following the worldwide success of their EDM collaboration “Born To Be Yours” with Kygo, Imagine Dragons released their first Origins single, “Natural”. It peaked at #13 on Billboard Hot 100, even higher than BTBY. Until now, only 4 Imagine Dragons songs managed to enter my personal charts and all of them are inside the top 5.
May 29, 20223 yr Author Alan Walker & Sophia Somajo – Diamond Heart if I was bulletproof, I'd love you black and blue if I was solid like a jewel Date entered: 20/10/2018 Chart run: 9-5-7-8-10-15-16-20-23-25-28-21-22-28-36-42-xx [16 weeks] Video: sJXZ9Dok7u8 Commentary I was a huge fan of Alan Walker’s electropop releases before I started enjoying 128 BPM music and hard dance more. “Diamond Heart” was a huge redemption by Alan Walker, after “Darkside” failed to peak at the top 10. A lot of people thought it was a collaboration with Sia. Still, Sophia’s vocals are so beautiful.
May 29, 20223 yr Author Kygo, Imagine Dragons – Born To Be Yours Are you the only one lost in the millions? Date entered: 07/07/2018 Chart run: 17-11-8-7-6-5-7-10-17-16-16-16-19-21-20-22-25-30-30-28-38-37-36-46-46-47-50-50-xx [28 weeks] Video: _G-k6TQYUek Commentary Although “Born To Be Yours” only peaked at #74 in Billboard Hot 100 and #54 in OCC, it was still a massive hit in Asia. As an instance in Indonesia, it peaked at #19 on Spotify and was played by the biggest local radio PramborsFM for over 6 months. It was also used as PramborsFM’s official mashup of the month alongside Alan Walker’s “Darkside” and Marshmello’s “Happier”.
June 28, 20223 yr Author Tom Walker – Leave a Light On 'Cause we've all made mistakes if you've lost your way Date entered: 07/07/2018 Chart run: 4-4-7-16-16-16-20-24-27-35-41-46-45-42-46-50-xx [16 weeks] Video: nqnkBdExjws Commentary Tom Walker’s first breakthrough hit “Leave A Little Light On” managed to debut at #4 on the very first week of Cow Cow’s flashback chart. His first top 3 UK song, “Just You and I”, was also able to reach the top 40, although it failed to peak higher.
June 28, 20223 yr Author Avicii ft. Agnes & Vargas & Lagola – Tough Love There's no place I'd rather be than in your arms Date entered: 18/05/2019 Chart run: 4-6-7-8-13-15-14-16-18-22-27-35-46-49-xx [14 weeks] Video: McJgc3Nb46I Commentary Avicii’s 2nd posthumous single “Tough Love” also managed to debut at #4 when it got released. It only spent 4 weeks on the top 10, but it finished #59 (37,934) at the end of 2019. It’s also the only entry by Agnes, Vargas & Lagola.
June 28, 20223 yr Author Atmozfears, Devin Wild ft. David Spekter – Breathe You're my all and more, all I know you taught me Date entered: 15/12/2018 Chart run: 24-19-18-9-11-9-7-8-5-6-4-6-5-7-11-12-18-22-22-22-28-31-37-50-xx [24 weeks] Video: sNVOoBdaWvY Commentary One of the songs that introduced me to hardstyle music. Atmozfears was one of Monstercat’s hard dance legends, while Devin Wild and David Spekter were quite new names for me. All three acts have each two songs entering my charts now.
August 11, 20222 yr Author P!nk – A Million Dreams 'Cause every night, I lie in bed. The brightest colors fill my head Date entered: 10/11/2018 Chart run: 26-22-19-9-7-7-4-6-8-10-11-15-17-23-32-37-45-xx [17 weeks] Video: xSBzMU1QyO8 Commentary Although The Greatest Showman album isn’t Buzzjack’s favorite thing (if I’m not mistaken), it doesn’t change the fact that I really love P!nk’s version of “A Million Dreams”. It was played daily for more than 6 months on local radio and it became one of my favorite P!nk songs until today! W&W & Nicky Romero – Ups & Downs We bottle up our ups and downs, It's only when the lights go down that we come out Date entered: 20/04/2019 Chart run: 28-24-23-17-11-9-5-4-6-5-7-6-11-17-21-25-32-34-37-44-48-xx [21 weeks] Video: 8mxe4cqtNo0 Commentary Another progressive house banger by W&W and Nicky Romero back in 2019. It was way more superior than their latest collaboration “We’re Still Young” last year. Midnight Kids ft. klei – Find Our Way (Feenixpawl Remix) We can take it slow ‘till there's nothing left to say. Even if you go, we'll find our way Date entered: 16/02/2019 Chart run: 12-8-5-4-5-6-5-7-6-8-11-12-13-18-24-32-40-48-xx [18 weeks] Video: wK9CE9qtvaU Commentary Finally, an introduction to one of the biggest robberies of 2018 lol, which is Feenixpawl. I’ll talk about ‘that song’ later because I put it on my 2018/19 charts as well. This remix, however, is simply a certified progressive banger. Edited August 11, 20222 yr by Cow Cow
August 11, 20222 yr Author Marshmello & Bastille – Happier I want to see you smile but, know that means I'll have to leave Date entered: 01/09/2018 Chart run: 4-11-13-21-22-24-25-27-28-27-29-34-42-43-45-xx [15 weeks] Video: m7Bc3pLyij0 Commentary Quite gutted that this song never hit number one in both the UK and US although it’s still played in every Indonesian radio. I definitely did not forget the copyright suit sent by ARTY either because I couldn’t unhear “Happier” on ARTY’s remix of “I Lived” by OneRepublic as well. However, I still enjoy listening to both songs and artists. Westlife – Hello My Love 'Cause you could have someone without a belly or a temper Date entered: 26/01/2019 Chart run: 4-6-7-16-17-19-24-22-25-29-30-36-44-xx [13 weeks] Video: 753Gl2VlPF8 Commentary Irish band Westlife made a surprising comeback in 2019 with “Hello My Love”. It is such a good song and definitely an easy-listening one. Quite unfortunate I failed to chart Shane Filan’s “Beautiful In White” because I forgot putting it. Sub Zero Project & Villain – The Solution We drop the bass like a motherf***ing atom bomb! Date entered: 29/06/2019 Chart run: 48-36-25-23-20-12-9-4-4-7-11-19-26-32-41-xx [15 weeks] Video: gQRwZ168vWY Commentary Now, I quite understand why most EDM fans got into hardstyle from Sub Zero Project. Their 2018 and 2019 releases are really that good. They were even able to do a collaboration with a trance vocalist like Christina Novelli. I quite like Villain’s ‘atom bomb’ line, which is pretty memorable. Also, its BPM is 160, 10 BPM faster than their normal hardstyle releases. Edited August 11, 20222 yr by Cow Cow
August 11, 20222 yr great to see Tough Love make it here. it won’t surprise you that I charted it at number one, having kicked off SOS then being replaced by Heaven. Diamond Heart, Happier are great too but didn’t make it so high for me. Find My Way I am not familiar with the remix version but I did enjoy the original a fair bit.
August 12, 20222 yr Author great to see Tough Love make it here. it won’t surprise you that I charted it at number one, having kicked off SOS then being replaced by Heaven. Diamond Heart, Happier are great too but didn’t make it so high for me. Find My Way I am not familiar with the remix version but I did enjoy the original a fair bit.Nope, I'm not surprised at all it went easily to your #1. Both SOS and Heaven will (unsurprisingly either) appear here too. Hadn't known the original Find Our Way until the Feenixpawl remix appeared on an EDM channel I subscribed. Both versions are good, but the remix fits my music taste more. August 12, 20222 yr Author PewDiePie, Party in Backyard – B**** Lasagna T-Series ain’t nothing but B**** Lasagna! Date entered: 05/01/2019 Chart run: 10-5-3-3-4-8-9-9-15-18-19-22-25-31-37-30-46-xx [17 weeks] Video: 6Dh-RL__uN4 Commentary How about starting the top 3 with a controversial song? PewDiePie released his first T-Series diss track “Lasagna” in December 2018. It’s soooooo controversial, but I think it’s still pretty interesting. Anyway, let’s get to the next song. Otherwise I’ might get burned alive. Martin Garrix & Matisse & Sadko ft. Alex Aris – Mistaken And all I say is, “No, I am not mistaken.” Date entered: 06/04/2019 Chart run: 3-10-13-16-18-21-28-37-46-xx [9 weeks] Video: 9-klJ6EQfe8 Commentary After releasing “No Sleep” with Bonn (which will appear here too later on), Martin Garrix released the long-awaited ADE 2018 ID with two familiar BJSC names, Matisse & Sadko and Alex Aris. It’s literally High On Life 2.0, but I still enjoy it either way. It was promoted by Prambors during the Friday night show since “No Sleep” was able to reach Prambors Top 40. However, “Mistaken” failed to continue Garrix’s success in Indonesian pop radio. Don Diablo ft. Calum Scott – Give Me Love 'Cause all the money in the world won't mean a thing with the hole in my heart it won't beat again Date entered: 07/07/2018 Chart run: 3-5-4-10-13-17-23-26-31-33-35-37-39-36-39-40-42-45-xx [18 weeks] Video: 7OvlmRI-WpU Commentary You might remember that Calum Scott became popular in Indonesia because of ABDA performing YATR at Indonesian Idol. I first discovered this at JOOX (before I started using Spotify). I found this collaboration interesting because I knew Don Diablo from my friend who showed me his Chainsmokers x Coldplay remix. Overall, it’s a great future house collaboration and I didn’t find the vocal chops annoying at all. Edited August 12, 20222 yr by Cow Cow
August 12, 20222 yr Author Alexander Popov, Attila Syah, & Natalie Gioia – Nothing Is Over Let’s run away outta ghost world far from reality Date entered: 16/02/2019 Chart run: 30-23-17-10-3-3-3-4-5-7-9-11-14-17-23-25-26-32-35-44-45-48-xx [22 weeks] Video: iJqeC7qxEXQ Commentary No, I did not know much about Alexander Popov and Natalie Gioia back then. I came because of Attila Syah, who was already a famous DJ and producer in Indonesia. Overall it was still an amazing vocal progressive tune by the three. Until today, Popov is still a 1HW, however both Attila and Gioia had already got their 2nd hit on my chart. Mike Perry – One Life 'Cause we got way too much time to lose, so let me know if you want me too Date entered: 05/10/2019 Chart run: 21-17-16-12-10-6-4-3-4-4-6-5-7-12-15-14-21-23-31-43-xx [20 weeks] Video: t6x8EzloiXU Commentary Mike Perry, who is known for his “The Ocean” with Shy Martin, had one top 5 song on my chart called “One Life”. It was the anthem of Neversea Festival 2019. His previous release “Runaway”, nearly got there, only peaking at #6. I think this is the first song I introduced that got the February 22nd 2020 collision. I’ll explain that collision later when I get into the number 1 lists. Bakermat ft. Alex Clare – Learn To Lose If you wanna be a winner, you gotta learn to lose Date entered: 18/05/2019 Chart run: 27-33-26-22-20-17-13-11-5-8-9-3-3-6-12-13-16-17-25-24-28-31-34-48-xx [24 weeks] Video: GNjStWG2vLU Commentary Honestly, I forgot how I discovered this song. That time I had no idea who Alex Clare was because I hadn’t followed OCC yet. What I remembered was that I found the song title and the chorus interesting. Overall, it’s a great song. Per today, it’s still Bakermat’s only hit on my chart, but I know other songs like “Baianá” and one of #145 entries “Temptation”. Edited August 13, 20222 yr by Cow Cow
