The Kooks have offloaded stacks of praise and gratitude to Arctic Monkeys for the amazing year the Brighton boys have endured since the release of their debut album 'Inside In/Inside Out'.

Singer Luke Pritchard said:

"God bless the Arctic Monkeys because if it wasn't for them we wouldn't have been so shielded. We were so overshadowed by the success it (their album) because it was so monster and we crept in behind everybody's back. Arctic Monkeys shielded us from having too much attention."

Guitarist Hugh Harris was equally amazed at the success of the fastest-selling Arctic Monkeys debut album:

"How can not be impressed by that? It's amazing. It's incredible what they've done."

That's nice of them. I pretty much like The Kooks but they're different band in my opinion.

Well I don't quite know why Luke has said this in all honesty.

There was hardly any hype around them when they released You Don't Love Me and I don't think The Arctic's over shadowed them at all, it all kicked off for them when they released Naive and not really before IMO.

I agree, "You Don't Love Me" was their first UK Top 15, yeah, but there wasn't any hype around them. It was "Naive" that kicked off things for them. But I think it's nice of them to respect Arctic's and their success.

Yeah it is. :D

I mean Naive was actually there 4th release so I mean there had been ample time for there to be a bit of hype but none really came up until Naive was given radio airplay.
