Interestingly Robbie's new release has collapsed more than Steps' did. Steps went 1-21 in week 1 and 2, so far Robbie is 1-midweek 38. In fairness Robbie sold quite a lot more in his first week, but it's still quite a shocking decline for him.

I really dislike how common these sorts of chart runs have become... so many albums are one week wonders now.

I miss when an album's release was really just the beginning of the era, and you could generally expect them to spend a few months in the chart if they were particularly successful. Now they're gone in the blink of an eye... unless the artist dominates on streaming. Only then can they spend months in the charts, or in some cases even years on end, despite their pure sales long having since dried up. But for the likes of Steps, their pure sales decline rapidly and there's no significant streaming to keep them hanging around.

Robbie's decline is a shock as it is the first time he has experienced this.

As you said it is becoming very common in the album chart now and it's not something to be celebrated.

I agree, it's sad to see but it happens so many albums now, outside fans very few are buying albums and fans generally all buy on release week, I really don't know what record companies can do to change this, reducing prices might help but if they do that will they make a profit. I can just see artists not making albums in the future and only releasing singles.
It's hard to know, it prob won't fall as hard but I think he would struggle to a point.i see here in Ireland, yungblud debuted at number 1 in the albums last week and is out of the top 100 this week and uk drop from 1 to number 74.
