i detest 99% of re-working of old tracks with a dance beat. it does nothing for the genre.

It's not as awful as I'd feared it might be, but I still object to it on general principle, these endless remixes of old, retro tracks do nothing to further the cause of the Dance/Techno genre, in fact, it sets it back quite considerably... Sure, Remixes have been a staple of Dance, but back then, it tended to be done as b-sides or album tracks, or as interesting little experiments for play in clubs/raves as opposed to the current unwelcome trend that is becoming more and more vociferous...

I usually hate 80s reworkings... but this is full of class and without the usual cheese that comes with these sort of tracks.

It's not as objectionable as some others (the travesty that was done to Blondie's "Heart of Glass" being one example that springs to mind...), but I just dont feel it does the genre any favours, the thing I always liked about Rave/Dance/Ambient, etc was that it looked forward, not back....

 

And I'm pretty sure that "Another Brick In The Wall" was 1979.... I could be wrong of course....

It's a respectable take on the track I think.

This is fairly dull et $h!t in terms of reworkings.

 

THAT SAID its nothing on the ABYSMAL reworking of "Heart of Glass" by Edison. Someone deserves a slap for attempting to release that.
