Posted August 18, 20222 yr Starting tomorrow! Feel free to make any remarks you feel like about the contest, no matter how much or how little you've been watching ^_^
August 21, 20222 yr Ireland's Sam Bennett made it back-to-back stage wins in the 2022 Vuelta a Espana with victory in Sunday's third stage. The Bora-Hansgrohe rider made his move in a sprint finish to beat Mads Pedersen for the second day in a row, with Britain's Dan McLay third. Jumbo-Visma rider Edoardo Affini took the leader's red jersey from team-mate Mike Teunissen. The 193.2km stage started and finished in the Dutch city of Breda.
August 22, 20222 yr Author After winning the team time trial with a full complement of 8 riders on stage one, Jumbo-Visma have done a great job of sharing the red jersey between them all! Gesink took the jersey on Stage 1, Teunissen on Stage 2 and Affini on Stage 3. Sam Bennett very much showing himself to be the sprinter to beat after taking two stages on the trot.
August 26, 20222 yr Author Three more changes to the red in the last 4 days! Roglic was the first to take it, before Molard took 4 minutes in a break, and then Evenepoel broke free from the GC contenders (with Mas on his wheel) and claiming the jersey. Not going the way of Roglic so far but still a long way to go! Some great wins for Vine and Herrada, although you do have to feel for Fred Wright after two third places (and missing out on the jersey by two seconds the other day!)
August 27, 20222 yr Author Jay Vine is really making a name for himself this Vuelta! Two wins in just three days is good going. Evenepoel also solidifying his position in red for the time being.
August 29, 20222 yr Author A fantastic win for Louis Meintjes yesterday (his first Grand Tour win amazingly!), with Evenepoel increasing his margin over everyone else. The time gaps are looking quite drastic for the end of the first week!
September 10, 20222 yr Author I've managed to get quite a few days behind in watching the Vuelta but it really was a shame to see Roglic have to abandon, he really looked like he was contending for the title.
