She successfully fends off competition from MØ, who stomps into the chart with what is basically a cover of the Babylon Zoo song her first top ten! Calvin Harris et al climb to #6, beating the #7 peak of Potion, while Beyoncé scores a third top ten with PURE/HONEY. Lower down, Charli XCX and First Aid Kit are on their way to the top ten - and with next week's chart currently poised to have no new entries (!), they could easily make it. Now, if I had a nickel for every time a song called True Romance was released in 2022 by a Scandinavian artist who had mainstream success in the mid 2010s, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice. That's what's happened this week thanks to the 2nd of MØ's two entries, which sits alongside two Pale Waves album tracks in the lower half of the chart. Glad you're enjoying the new Pale Waves songs, DESPECHÁ is definitely one of the songs of the summer for me ^_^ I really like First Aid Kit's Out of My Head here. Hold The Girl has a shot at #1 this week tbh, I'm obsessed with the Like A Prayer vibes on the chorus. 2 Die 4 isn't as good as No One Dies From Love but it's a bop regardless, hope it can grow on you. PURE/HONEY is still getting better for me, so so good <3
