August 31, 20222 yr to answer - how did they get away with it for so long? Simple - fear tactics. People were blocked from seeing her, she was never alone, on the surface it may seem like she was overprotected however it may have read as caring family. The cracks really appeared during Glory - she was much freerer (I believe her dad wasnt around as much). I love Britney but i am intrigued that she didn't seem to link any of her 'erratic' behaviour during 2007 to the conservership - the head shaving, the umbrella incident. Maybe she doesn't really remember them and had logical reasons for them (certainly the umbrella). Just seems weird she doesn't think she did anything, except speak in a British accent, to warrant the conservership - i suppose there is a huge lapse in time. Nothing she did warranted a conservatorship, that should have been the absolute last resort. People shave their head all of the time, that does not equal 'erratic'. The paps were hounding her 24/7 and they were harassing her on a night in which hit a car with an umbrella, she was just refused to see her kids. She wore wigs, like she always has done. Nicki, Lady Gaga and many more wore wigs does that equal erratic? no. She literally said in For The Record she was always out of the house as it reminded of her of her kids and when they were not there it was not 'home', so she'd go out. She did not do anything at all that warranted a conservatorship. All she needed was support, counselling, therapy etc and not something as restrictive and abusive as the conservatorship turned out to be. I think it's clear that the c-ship years were MUCH worse for her than 2007, so no wonder she feels like that time was nothing. If her behaviour there was 'erratic', I guess the majority of the population should be in a conservatorship. She was clearly a woman struggling with Post partum going through a bitter divorce and being harassed by dozens upon dozens of paparazzi.
