1. As It Was - my song of the year so far

2. abcdefu - great track, very anthemic

3. Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) - a classic I've gotten to know better this year

4. We Don't Talk About Bruno - so much fun

5. Afraid to Feel - good but bored of it

6. Starlight - fine, not something I ever went back to

7. B.O.T.A. (Baddest of Them All) - comfortably last, it's just dull to me

I voted Kate just because it's iconic but Eliza and LF System would be neck and neck if she wasn't there. Dave my least fave but I like that too.

The only one I don't like is RUTH, so all the 2022 ones are good to excellent.

I like everything down to Eliza so a strong year so far!

1. Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) - Kate Bush. A classic that deserved all its success! such a timeless track

2. We Don't Talk About Bruno - Cast Of Encanto. Such a fun song from one of Disney's best ever movies, I don't go back to it often but when i do its still so fun to hear!

3. abcdefu - GAYLE. hated on too much, definitely not GAYLE's best but its an anthem!

4. B.O.T.A. (Baddest Of Them All) - Eliza Rose & Interplanetary Criminal. a catchy bop, doesn't do much for me but still enjoyable

5. Afraid To Feel - LF SYSTEM. Another one that doesn't do much for me but its catchy enough and i like the tempo changes

6. As It Was - Harry Styles. Its a very mediocre song by someone i find extremely overrated. Its not bad, but theres nothing special to it for me

7. Starlight - Dave. Again, its not bad, but i find it very mediocre and I would have preferred Aitch/ Ashanti or even Jack Harlow to make it to #1 over this as their songs were more interesting. Dave just sounds so bored on it

06; Afraid to Feel (same as above, but I was underwhelmed anyway, it just feels lazy? Reminded me of those generic house songs that vanished after a week in the early 2010s, not one that's spent nine weeks at number 1...)

07; abcdefu (I think this is single-handedly responsible for my angry old man side about Tik Tok ruining the charts coming out x )

 

Actually not a bad year for number 1s, not that there's been many, my favourite of the 2020s easily.

1 RUTH(ADWG) 10/10 classic of classics still in shock it managed to hit #1 in 2022

2 Afraid to Feel 10/10 the antidote to all the boring and generic dance dullness that joel corry and becky hill delivered all these years

 

3 As it Was 6/10 decent but so overplayed i don't wanna hear it until 2023

4 BOTA 6/10 like but not love yet hope it grows

5 abcdefu 5/10 like it a lot of first but it's a bit too gimmicky

:lol: I might be being unfair on As It Was as it's the only one I've had a chance to get sick of as the others mostly haven't gotten too overexposed yet. I know I liked it plenty months ago but I don't want to hear it again.

Unbelievable there's only been 7 and we're in September.

 

A good group if #1s, considering I don't think the standard of the Top 10s has been great (I'd average score them below 5)
