I basically already posted my rank in the Spotify thread the other day but to reiterate:

1 Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) 11/10 - scoring things 11/10 is a bit overdone and devalued in rates on here but in this case it is fully justified, this was already up there with my favourite songs of all time even before this year and it's been wild to see it become a genuine global smash all over again

2 As It Was 9.5/10 - I feel like this song is one that's going to be immune to overplay for me, in fact I like it even more now than I did when it was starting its run, it helps that it sounds like it was plucked straight out of 2013 in the first place I guess

3 Starlight 9/10 - Dave does have better songs, mostly album tracks though, this is actually one of my favourites of his singles

4 Afraid To Feel 9/10 - this has started to lose its sheen just a little for me now unlike 'As It Was' but still a very refreshing big hit, if maybe benefiting just from being different to everything else in its genre. Will see how I feel about this one in a few years especially if it does actually succeed in helping to kill Corrycore

5 We Don't Talk About Bruno 8.5/10 - a fad but a fun one

6 B.O.T.A. (Baddest Of Them All) 7/10 - I'm willing this to grow on me more than it has so far, it's still a refreshing listen for reasons similar to 'Afraid To Feel' but I feel like it doesn't quite have enough substance to it to really jump out as a favourite for me

7 abcdefu 4/10 - her being a one hit wonder so far pleases me greatly. This still isn't unlistenable but the follow-up was x

Really not a strong year at all - I couldnt tell you how Dave's song goes, and I've listened to it a good couple of times.

01 Eliza Rose (iconic #1 periodt, GOOD UNDERGROUND DANCE MUSIC and female DJs ftw, amazing sample use, unique, fresh and full of personality )

02 LF SYSTEM (a grower and so fun, a much needed turning point for dance music in the charts )

03 Kate Bush

04 Dave

05 Harry Styles (elevator music)

06 Gayle (lame, cheesy and cringe fest)

1. Eliza Rose - B.O.T.A (Baddest Of Them All) (so good, one of the best UK No.1s in ages)

2. Encanto Cast - We Don't Talk About Bruno (ditto, seemed to come out of nowhere to No.1 and the way it spent 7 weeks there looks so bizarre, but a refreshing chart topper)

3. LF System - Afraid To Feel (Also brilliant, great to see a dance No.1 after a while, and not just inthe usual Guetta/Corry style)

-----------

4. Kate Bush - Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) (Obviously a great song, although I do prefer others from Kate personally, but great to see her get a No.1 with this after so long)

5. Harry Styles - As It Was (Definitely a strong song, not a personal fave really but I can see why it's so successful)

-----------

6. Gayle - abcdefu (slightly annoying, will be forgotten quickly I'd imagine)

7. Dave - Starlight (his albums are always excellent, with numerous songs I would LOVE to see at No.1 - this is complete forgettable filler for me)

The top three will all finish in my own top 40 of the year based on current tracking.
