January 9, 20232 yr Honestly at this point I’m taking Sam Smith on a song-to-song basis. Like they followed up DWAS with How Do You Sleep and it was actually pretty good, which shows that they’re capable of making consecutively good songs as a lead artist. I can already imagine the uproar if it ends up being another Love Me More or I’m Ready
January 9, 20232 yr ^they've posted a million snippets already, the song is like Unholy mixed with Rema-Calm Down, so no ballad for sure
January 9, 20232 yr It's not a ballad the chorus sounds like another attempt to have a viral TikTok song which is the norm these days. <_<
January 9, 20232 yr I'm genuinely so interested to see what happens next, will this era bring renewed interest in Sam as an artist and multiple hits or was Unholy just a one off because of Tik Tok.
January 9, 20232 yr Gimme sounds like a bop from the clip! With sales so low, I think it could do well. It's obviously not going to be as big as "Unholy" or anywhere near that but I could see a Top 20 hit, maybe low Top 10. Aside from "Love Me More" they've always done okay really!
January 9, 20232 yr Also as an aside, I don't think people are doing it on purpose but respectfully can we use Sam's correct pronouns.
January 9, 20232 yr Just hear the clip and…. umm… I… wow. Props to Sam for experimenting with different genres this time around :o
January 11, 20232 yr GIMME is available to stream! I like it but I prefer the parts when Sam isn’t singing .
January 11, 20232 yr I'm not sure I'm keen on it at all Last.fm struggling already I see "gImMe (FeAT. koFfEe & jeSsIe rEyEz)"
January 12, 20232 yr oh my this is terrible, borderline unlistenable I never liked Unholy but at least I could see the appeal to some this is a mess
January 12, 20232 yr I think it's a bop!! I wouldn't say unlistenable, that feels a tad dramatic lmao.
January 12, 20232 yr Its unlistenable to me lmao too we certainly have different music taste in EVERYTHING lmao
January 12, 20232 yr lol no wonder you guys don’t get on  I think it’s okay, it’ll probably grow on me like Calm Down did but it’s fine. The Jessie Reyez portions make the song though kinda similar to how I think Kim’s verse on Unholy was the selling point for me
January 12, 20232 yr Its unlistenable to me lmao too we certainly have different music taste in EVERYTHING lmao Okay? I just felt it was quite hyperbolic and you have a way of wording things as though it's fact rather than opinion.
January 12, 20232 yr I quite like the song but Sam’s verses are a bit cringe like they are desperately trying to replicate Unholy. What on earth is this lyric: Voyeurs are watching us. Giving me such a rush. Edited January 12, 20232 yr by Chloe00x
January 12, 20232 yr I like it but can’t see myself playing it much outside the album. Also don’t think it’s the next official single as Sam was seen recording a video before Christmas and there has been no mention of a video for Gimme.
January 12, 20232 yr Wasn't 'Lose You' billed as being the next official single? I've yet to hear this, I'll brave it later.
January 12, 20232 yr I’m hoping for Lose you to be the next official single as that sounded great during the recent live performance. However I’ve heard the title track is out next week before their SNL performance so who knows what the single is. There’s also the Ed Sheeran collab which seems like an obvious choice for a single at some point.
January 12, 20232 yr I kinda don't see them having sustained success also as the UK is like Terf islamd (yay) but if they went for another tiktok hit they could def elevate their profile again. Kinda not sure why they've not gone for that angle really; I took Unholy as a sign they were going full on into commercial chasing and tbh fair play as a pop act who's also doing a lot for representation. Lord knows we need a bit of that
