Stunning track - he’s performed it live a few times and it’s become a bit of a fan favourite.
with a little better planning Im sure he could get another t40, like if a brand new song like this was linked to physical singles

It’s just a thing to promote a deluxe release though, I’m not surprised they’re not putting all their resources into it.

To be honest from the strategy so far they are not chasing hit singles - midweek releases, limited/no promo etc.

SGU had a vinyl and then a CD single thrown out when it started to take off but everything since has just been released with the aim of prolonging album sales.

Love WGO though - such a classic sound with the sax.

He doesn't chase hit but he deserves them. Part of me died after I saw someone on Twitter call Sam a one-hit-wonder... :nocheer:
^^ Definitely deserves them and some of his songs feel much bigger than their chart peaks suggest, hopefully era 3 will result in some hits seeing as his streaming seems to be building all the time.
The singles are not becoming big hits but they are helping with album sales which looks like what they were aiming for
I think 'Get You Down', 'Spit of You' and 'Alright' easily could've done more with an extra push but it seems they weren't really fussed.

‘Spit Of You’ could have gone Top 40 on a number of weeks with literally just a tiny push on socials encouraging people to stream/download it.

‘Alright’ got a mention once on socials and then was left - the fact it entered at #42 on Spotify shows it could have been a hit with some effort rather than a #61 smash, I’ve kind of given up on him getting hits now - he seems totally unbothered by that side of things.

Enters the chart at #71

Glad it held on with no promo or radio play plus only a lyric video.

Can definitely see the lead from the next album being a hit based on how he manages to charts with zero hype about releases.

I just added ‘The Dying Light’ to my own playlist instead lol, appropriate for the time of year and I like it better.
