Paris' pop career over

She claims she has not excepted money of her parents since she was 19 years old, and that is hardly surprising considering the money she makes by herself from the odd film, endorsment deal, perfume etc.

 

Big deal, so she inherits it all when Daddy dies and she has that back-up if things go t*ts up for her, and no one's gonna tell me that she doesn't have Trust Fund. It's like that Pulp song "Common People" when Jarvis sings the line "Still you never get it right/When You lay in bed at night/Watching roaches climb the wall/If you call your dad/He can stop it all...". And dont tell me having the name "Hilton" has exactly done her any harm when it comes to getting herself noticed or getting business loans from the banks, etc... She's not exactly had a hard time of it, her name pretty much guarantees she'll be indulged and pampered by armies of sychophants who all think the sun shines out of her arse-crack... She gets acting jobs because of her name, not because of her acting ability (which is abysmal as anyone who's ever seen her 'act' should know...), her music is weak, even by Pop standards, as for the perfume..... That's just so utterly irrelevant to me that I just cant be arsed commenting... :lol:

As for your supposition that she'd've been famous regardless of the Porn vid, well, I doubt that frankly.. She'd've maybe been 'famous' in the sense of Tara Palmer Tomkinson (another utterly useless piece of skin...) and been an "It" Girl, but I certainly had no idea who she was before the Porn Scandal hit the headlines... And I reckon it's the same for most people....

You are right in one sense, it's not just her who has this totally undeserved fame, and another poster is spot on when they say that she is merely a symptom of a general cultural trend... I object to this 'lowering of the standards' that people like Hilton and others represent... The mid/late 80s were certainly shallow, but I reckon what's going on now is far worse....
