Here we go, Brits vs Yanks!

Biggest news coming out at the moment is Kane has gone for a scan on his ankle, which makes it unlikely he plays on Friday. Not good!

Thanks for starting this thread, Rooney, :)

I expect it USA will be tougher opposition for England, as long it's not a repeat of 2010, or 1950.

I’m not sure who I hate more country wise in this game - go for the English!

Third time lucky for us then hopefully!

Kane out is not good but we've got plenty of players chipping in with the goals now plus it gives Wilson the chance of his lifetime.

USA will win, like in 2010

Probably will, expect USA draw in 2010 and won in 1950.

MATCH FACTS

This is the third meeting between England and USA at the World Cup, with the United States winning 1-0 in 1950 before a 1-1 draw in 2010.

In all competitions, England have won eight of their 11 meetings with USA (drew one, lost two). Their last defeat against them came in June 1993 (0-2), winning four and drawing one of their meetings since then.

Following their 6-2 victory over Iran, England are looking to win their opening two games at the World Cup for a fourth time, also doing so in 1982, 2006 and 2018.

England completed 716 passes in their 6-2 win over Iran, their most on record in a World Cup match since 1966. John Stones was responsible for 116 of those completed passes (16%), also the most by an England player in a World Cup game since 1966.

USA XI: Turner; Dest, Zimmerman, Ream, Robinson; Adams, Musah, McKennie; Wright, Weah, Pulisic.

England are playing so poor so far. USA looking like they’re going to nick something. It’s been very reminiscent of the Scotland game at the last Euros which was coincidently also our second group game and on a Friday night.
Not a lot of difference in this half apart from we are higher up the pitch.
Hour gone and no real difference. Cannot be leaving it much longer for subs.
