February 8, 20232 yr Thanks for posting Jay. I think this’ll be similar to her last to albums Wanderlust & Familia. Both of which whilst not her best had stunning songs in them.
February 8, 20232 yr Under 2hrs til the first play. Familia was one of the two albums I purchased on my last trip to London/the UK.
February 8, 20232 yr Author I'm getting the feeling it's gonna be more folk-pop than I was hoping, but still here for it in whatever form it may come!

February 8, 20232 yr Author Sounded nice on first listen! I'll give it a few more spins throughout the day. Ngl I desperately wanted an album of bangers, but I'm trying to judge it on its own merits rather than not being what I wanted. Edited February 8, 20232 yr by Jessie Where

February 8, 20232 yr Just had a listen now. Very atmospheric, it reminded me a little bit of "Move This Mountain" off the first album, that same sort of vibe. I like a lot!
February 8, 20232 yr I really like it, it's more of that warm folk-disco sound that suits her voice so well.

February 8, 20232 yr On first listen, for me it's nothing special sadly, it sounds like an album track off Familia. I think my expectations maybe too high though, I assumed after the image she created for herself over lock down being the iamspamspamamiqueen. That we'd get something instantly catchy, something disco you could all sing to. I don't think this song after one listen is enough to keep the Mummy fanbase she gained in the iamspamspamamiera. February 8, 20232 yr True, I expected her to capitalise on the Kitchen Discos too but maybe she's finally got it out of her system. I loved Wanderlust but wasn't as mad on Familia.
February 8, 20232 yr I'm not really sure what, if anything, Sophie released would have much impact. I would imagine the income she generates is pretty much solely from touring/merchandise, so having a new album out, doing some promo and announcing the tour, then playing a few of the new songs but mostly the hits will keep her ticking over nicely for a few years. I'm just glad she's still out here making music in one form or another.
