Posted December 23, 200618 yr I had always liked Mariah Carey but had never loved her - until she released the Emancipation album and the single 'We Belong Together' I always thought that she went too R&B and neglected the songs that made her massive in the mid 90's. Her last album was a perfect example of how to marry different genres of music and this led me on to buy all her albums and really listen to her music. Most people don't realise that apart from the few covers Mariah has released, all of the other songs have been written by her. This performance is a perfect example of how she gets it right for me - no t*ts out of stupid behaviour, just her and her voice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnehEp4MRYQ Edited December 23, 200618 yr by shnfox
December 23, 200618 yr Christina - Beautiful I liked her before and did love Dirrty but after Beautiful I took her alot more seriously and seen shes a amazing singer. Nelly Futardo - Maneater I loved Like A Bird but I fought everything after that was pretty dire until Maneater now I like her alot more than ever before. Sugababes - Round Round Pretty much hated them until they released this. Although I liked Freak Like Me I wasnt really impressed as it was a cover but when they released this I knew they were my fave girl band.
December 23, 200618 yr Author Have u heard 'Try' by Nelly Furtado? It was on her last album and is beautiful and not unlike songs on her latest album. The whole Folklore album is really good and was just overlooked cos it was so different from Whoa Nelly. The same would have happened if she had released 'Loose' after 'Whoa'.
December 23, 200618 yr ^ Maneater would have been number 1 regardless what year it was released. Yeah I heard "Try" its okay but "All Good Things" is alot better.
December 23, 200618 yr for me snow patrol i liked there music but when the final straw material came around i just adored then
December 24, 200618 yr Snow Patrol - Changing Cars - couldn't stand them before  Now Im thinking of getting there album :P

December 26, 200618 yr All of these songs transformed me into fans of these already established artists... Nelly Furtado-Maneater All Saints-Rock Steady Take That-Patience Kelly Clarkson-Since U Been Gone Madonna-Hung Up Atomic Kitten-Eternal Flame Kylie Minogue-On a Night Like This Mariah Carey-Thank God I Found You Evanescence-Call Me When You're Sober Edited December 26, 200618 yr by gooddelta
December 26, 200618 yr Well I thought Mariah only had 2 decent songs (Hero, Without You) before I heard It's Like That, and it opened a can of worms. :(
December 26, 200618 yr Author have u listened to her older albums?? rainbow is a wicked album!! i dont know why she wasnt huge here years ago - she has so much talent!!!
December 26, 200618 yr Kelly Clarkson - Behind These Hazel Eyes I just though she was the run of the mill reality winner until she released Since U Been Gone, I wasn't sure if I liked her or not, but after I heard Behind These Hazel Eyes that completly changed my opinion on her, she is now one of my favouritist artists.
December 27, 200618 yr I always thought Kelly Clarkson was a mediocre pop singer and riding off undeserved Idol fame. Even her second album seemed dull (first single Breakaway didn't impress me). But then came a little song called Since U Been Gone...
December 27, 200618 yr ^ Maneater would have been number 1 regardless what year it was released. Yeah I heard "Try" its okay but "All Good Things" is alot better. maneater, one of the singles of the year.
December 27, 200618 yr It was actually a performance of Underneath Your Clothes on TOTP which first made me become a Shakira fan. This ones from CD:UK but it's similar (although not as good ;) ) WAve7cX4uAY And with Nelly Furtado, I liked her since I'm Like A Bird but I got really into her when Forca was released and then it was Maneater which sorta pushed me over the edge and now I'd call myself a fan of hers. With Black Eyed Peas - I absolutely hated Where Is The Love, then sorta liked Shut Up but absolutely LOVED Hey Mama, even though people often say it's one of their worst songs. Ever since then, I've loved everything they've done since.
