Top 10 hits start to filter through more from this section onwards, with NEIKED's collaboration with Anne-Marie and Latto being the next to drop. The Stevie Wonder interpolating track scraped the UK top 100 but was a bit bigger in my chart, albeit not as big as Anne-Marie's tracks usually are. Alyssa Reid, Cardi B and GUS lose top 10 hits too, the latter of which has one of the weirdest runs of the year, falling straight out from #9 before re-entering at #40 a week later... (it was the result of me seeing Laroi live that pushed it out more than anything else tbf). A debut hit from Henry Moodie features, as well as a collaboration between Kehlani and Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj's Super Freaky Grandma, and a cute Powfu song that was actually something of an underperformance for him. Concluding the smash hit round-up in this section is the fabulous The Family Madrigal from Encanto, one of the most quotable and fun songs from the film.

Familiar faces aplenty in this section! Boy In Space and Harry Styles lose another EP/album track each and another Alyssa Reid single falls out, but all have plenty more songs to come. Troye Sivan loses the second of two songs from Three Months, the film he starred in, and Camila Cabello sheds her first song of two. A minor hit at the end of 2021, his 2022 impact saw Michael Aldag re-enter with Tonsillitis at a new peak this year. Post Malone enlisted The Kid LAROI for album track Wasting Angels, and Christopher returned for his second collaboration with CHUNG HA, which peaked at #14 towards the end of the year. Encanto's biggest hit is also its highest song here, with We Don't Talk About Bruno at #225, and the last song not mentioned yet is an oddity; Anson Seabra's Peter Pan Was Right had been teased already yet remained unreleased, with rapper/producer AJ Reaper making an unofficial version of it and releasing it. It lasted a week on Spotify before it got removed, but it's a cute version anyway (and I downloaded it so I have the MP3!). The main version features much higher!

Making a return to music, albeit this time as a side project to his swimming career, Cody Simpson achieved a top 10 hit with comeback track Nice to Meet You. Latto loses her second of three songs in infectious Saucy Santana collaboration Booty, though her third song is much higher! More top 10s drop out from Louise and Megan Thee Stallion, who both crept in at the #10 spot and don't feature again, as well as Jutes and Charlie Puth, who have much bigger tracks left in the countdown. Breakthrough top 20 hits from Chris Lanzon and Winona Oak feature at the bottom of this section, as well as the first of three Tate McRae singles and another Benson Boone EP track.

 

Glad to see "Cinema", "Hold The Girl", "Million Dollar Baby", "Black & Blue", "With You", "Perfect Melody" and "Keep Driving" on here.

Might as well give Tonsilitis a listen given I quite liked the last Michael Aldag song you linked - this one is quite different but he does have a good voice! We Don't Talk About Bruno is incredibly catchy also!

Already, a first top 5 hit drops out, though it's the only one to miss my top 200. Steps got their first top 10 with Hard 2 Forget, though it's not one of their most essential tracks, just the first to be released since I've really gotten into their music. At the other end of the spectrum, the highest song not to make my top 20 actually outdoes it, only *just* missing my top 200! Averagekidluke's GONE was a big slow burner, and I actually knew of it for a few weeks before it charted too. The top 20 hits are starting to diminish now, with Joji's biggest hit to date and another Michael Aldag single being the only ones here. The second Tom Odell song of five shows up, alongside the third of four Jutes singles, this time a collaboration with benny mayne, who hasn't otherwise made my chart. Similarly, chart newbie salem ilese got her first hit alongside Imanbek, who scored an EOY top 20 with Rita Ora last year. Denis Coleman and Dove Cameron both pop up for the first of two appearances, while George Ezra returned with a top 10 single. We don't talk about the song that followed it up.

Doing well for non-top 10 hits are a series of collaborations. A song released before I properly discovered his own music, Sarcastic Sounds' change ur mind finally made my top 20 with his EP release. KOOLKID aka Ryan Lawrie scored two chart hits this year, the first being slow burner Sober, with Kbubs, an eventual top 20 hit but worthy of more! Another familiar name with a dance producer, Noak Hellsing returned to my top 20 for the first time in over a year with Tep No on I Won't Need You at the end of the year. Elsewhere, Averagekidluke's top 10 hit places less than 10 spots above his #22 hit...! The first of three Isac Elliot singles of 2022 is at #195, while the first of five entries from ROLE MODEL appears in this section. Ava Max loses her second of two songs and Jonah Kagen his third of four, while another Harry Styles album track also falls out as well as one of two simultaneous breakthrough hits for singer Hastings, whose NOTD collab is much higher.

It's a sea of top 10 hits now, with only Tate McRae's slow burner she's all i wanna be missing the top tier from this section! Tate has one more song to come. Appearing for the first time in this section are Knox and Demi Lovato, who have three and one more song each respectively, while Thomas Day (who scored the final #1 of 2021 with The New Me) and Oscar Enestad (who had 2019's EOY #1) make their sole appearances of the year in this section. Nicky Youre had a chart breakthrough with viral hit Sunroof this year, but I was much more interested in the follow-up, Never Go Wrong, a collaboration with david hugo who has already appeared in this year's countdown. A non-album single from Powfu and another Jennifer Lopez song, the title track from the Marry Me film which also features her co-star Maluma, feature in this section too, as well as another Alyssa Reid single, one that peaked at #34 in 2020 but found a new lease of life in early 2022 with its parent album release!

 

Really like seeing "STAR WALKIN'", "Super Freaky Girl", "Grapejuice", "Psychofreak","Sweetest Pie" and "Uh Oh" from your latest section.

Pink Venom, Breakfast & She's All I Wanna Be will be all be appearing very highly in my countdown :D It's a shame that Breakfast couldn't do anything for Dove after Boyfriend gave her such a surprise hit.

 

I do enjoy Psychofreak and Sweetest Pie but think that both collaborations sounded like they had the potential to make something even better.

 

My Mind & Me & Uh Oh are both pretty nice too but quite forgettable in their discographies.

Weapons is such a bop from Ava, I'm still rooting for her to get another hit sooner or later! STAR WALKIN' and This Hell are also great from your recent posts.

Few non-top 10 hits remain at this stage but Tom Grennan's All These Nights was unlucky not to quite get close enough to the top tier. Nevertheless, it became his highest charting track as lead artist to date, with only #4 hit Let's Go Home Together with Ella Henderson charting higher. Demi Lovato's powerful 29 is her highest track this year, as is Melody for Sigala, who reached last year's EOY top 20 alongside Rita Ora on You for Me. More appearances from Powfu and Harry Styles but both have higher tracks still to arrive, unlike Carly Rae Jepsen and Beyoncé, who both achieved their highest peaking hits in a matter of years (since Party for One and Say Yes, respectively!) with these tracks. Charlie Puth loses his second of a huge eight entries, this one being promo single I Don't Think That I Like Her which got up to #6 a few weeks before the album release. Rory Webley shed his one hit wonder status with a second top 10; Teenage Tragedy peaked just one place lower than his prior 2020 hit Genie in a Bottle. The third and final member of FO&O to score a solo top 10 hit, Omar Rudberg (also now a Young Royals actor) hit the top tier with Melodifestivalen track Moving Like That, which unfortunately flopped in the contest.

Four tracks from Greyson Chance's latest album Palladium reached my top 10 this year, and the first to fall is Homerun Hitter, which peaked at #9. Meanwhile, the singles from ROLE MODEL's Rx album this year were actually outdone, as the intriguingly named if jesus saves, she's my type is the second of the two to fall while two non-singles remain! The first of 9 2022 BJSC entries of mine falls at #167, with group Wild Youth's track Seventeen being remixed from a slightly drab track into a fun if generic dance bop. A festive track from Anson Seabra and the third single from Charlie Puth's album feature here, but both have bigger hits to come. Alesso teamed up with Katy Perry for the first brand new hit of 2022, while charlieonnafriday made his chart debut with melodic rap track Enough. Another debut in 2022 came from venbee and goddard. and their infectious messy in heaven, which was one of my favourite dance hits of the year! Anastacia scored a first top 10 hit with soundtrack single American Night, and actor Fin Argus, aka fin, returned to the top 10 with their statement track Exposure.

Collaborations in this section saw three artists get their first top 10 hits alongside more established artists. Troye Sivan helped PNAU to achieve their first credited top 10 (it peaked at the same position as their remix of Elton & Dua's Cold Heart, though), while KOOLKID boosted Jonasu into my chart for the first time with Why Don't We, entirely unrelated to the boyband! Sarcastic Sounds was the driving force behind the debut top 10 hit for Arden Jones, though he's since scored a top 10 in his own right, still to come in the countdown! Elsewhere debut top 10s for Bugzy Malone & TeeDee (which hit the top tier just this week) and Eurovision's Chanel, who pops up as the first of three songs from the main contest this year. Conan Gray and Alfie Templeman appear for the first time, the former not quite making the top 10 with his stunning track Yours but nonetheless scoring a long-running hit. Benson Boone's beautiful Empty Heart Shaped Box and the second of four Knox songs also feature here, as well as Circles Around This Town, the first top 10 as a lead artist for Maren Morris.

 

Nice to see "Beach House", "BREAK MY SOUL", "Melody", "All These Nights", "Loser", "When I'm Gone", "SloMo" and "You Know What I Need" from your latest list.

Squeezing into the top half is the gorgeous Drowning, the first 2022 release from Jonah Kagen. It was his third top 10 hit on the trot, and though things went a bit bumpy after that, Drowning still holds up as his best track of the year. My favourite of Tate McRae's 2022 songs is also in this section, with what would you do? at #143. Intriguingly, though, Ed Sheeran makes his first and last appearance with a double whammy in this section! Pokemon track Celestial is his best performing track of the year, but Bam Bam, with Camila Cabello, is only a few places higher, and is her own top track of 2022.

 

Eros Atomus was in the running to be Germany's Eurovision 2022 entry, and while I liked his potential entry Alive, I wasn't gutted it didn't make it. He served a much better song with schroedingers cat, and though its production is far from being the most professional on this list, it's such an infectious track! good problem also scored a breakthrough hit with Boy In Space in tow, and Em Beihold's viral hit Numb Little Bug took her to my top 10.

 

Griff scored a third top 10 hit on the bounce with Head on Fire, helping Sigrid into the top tier for the first time! Another Charlie Puth track is at #148, with the sublime Smells Like Me, a promotional single from the CHARLIE album. Closing out the section is 21 Reasons, Nathan Dawe's second top 10 hit (in a patchy chart history) with Ella Henderson, who scored her biggest hit of 2022 with it.

One of the few rappers to make my top 10 as a lead artist in 2022, Saweetie achieved her second as lead artist (following 2021's #3 hit Best Friend), this time with H.E.R. in tow. Closer debuted at #8, as did the song just below it, a collaboration between Seeb and Alexander Stewart, the only top 10 for either artist this year. Everyone else in this section has multiple appearances, though it's the final one for Arden Jones, whose previous track 4 walls was a couple of sections ago. mr. sunshine peaked one place lower, but spent two weeks top 10.

 

I first heard Greyson Chance's My Dying Spirit at his tour a couple of months before it came out, and it sounded so epic. Its studio version didn't disappoint, charting at #7 in the album's release week! Alec Benjamin's One Wrong Turn also debuted in album release week, and it still hasn't been a single nor made my top 10, though it's the second highest non-top 10 hit in my top 300 countdown! Carrie Underwood hasn't yet released Crazy Angels as a single either, but it reached #6 as a promotional single, being her third highest entry this year, while Harry Styles' Daylight is the 8th highest of his 13 appearances, having grown on me notably since hearing it live on his Love on Tour!

 

Elsewhere, Michael Aldag's emotional track BLEAK is his first of four top 10 hits to drop, much like Charli XCX's Baby, though the two songs couldn't be more different...!! The final song not to get a mention yet is glaive's i wanna slam my head against the wall, released in 2021 but first made my chart when I discovered his old dog, new tricks project in 2022. It charted at #19 initially but re-entered and climbed to my top 10 after I saw glaive live, becoming his fourth top 10 at the time.

 

Must have missed Would You Lie being released! Giving it a listen now, SeeB always know how to put out a decent tune.
