December 28, 20222 yr Author Glad you like it Pete! It was sent to the recent BJSC, I considered it but though Seeb would be too cheap
December 28, 20222 yr Author Songs: Top 300 121 Joel Corry & Becky Hill - HISTORY | 5-8-13-21-33-37-x 122 Harry Styles - Love of My Life | 6-27-36-x-27-x 123 GAYLE - ur just horny | 5-9-15-30-36-x 124 Tyga & Doja Cat - Freaky Deaky | 6-14-19-21-25-29-x 125 ROLE MODEL - stripclub music | 12-32-x 126 elijah woods - the way that we started (taylor) | 6-6-… 127 Avril Lavigne feat. blackbear - Love It When You Hate Me | 4-11-19-36-x 128 Benson Boone - Work of Art | 6-13-27-38-x 129 Michael Aldag - APATHY | 5-10-13-17-22-34-x 130 Anitta - Versions of Me | 31-28-9-10-17-23-36-x With her album being one of my surprise favourites of the year, Anitta also scored her first top 10 hit as a lead artist with its title track, the pop perfection of Versions of Me. Tyga scored a first top 10 as a lead artist too, aided by Doja Cat on the extremely addictive Freaky Deaky, also a top 40 hit in the UK. elijah woods also reached the top 10 for the first time in 2022, spending the past two weeks at #6 just a few weeks after his previous single, almost happy, reached my chart at #38. Just one section above its predecessor BLEAK, Michael Aldag's APATHY drops out. He has three more songs left in the running, and one more from his SOCIALIZING EP. Another Harry Styles track also drops, with the beautiful closer Love of My Life at #122, while Benson Boone's stunning Work of Art is at #128, leaving only his singles in the running. Almost doing the exact opposite, the singles from ROLE MODEL's Rx album are out already (though newer single cross your mind is still in), and one of the two remaining album tracks falls out in this section. stripclub music is also this year's highest non-top 10 hit. The first of two Avril Lavigne singles to appear drops at #127, matching the peak of Bite Me. It's also the first top 10 for blackbear since his feature on Jacob Sartorius' #10 hit Hit Me Back in 2018. GAYLE scored a second hit with ur just horny, which finishes higher than #4 hit abcdefu did in my 2021 EOY (#149, though it was a hit at the very end of the year which is often a hindrance). Joel Corry and Becky Hill both have patchy histories in my chart (no pun intended), but they came together for a #5 hit, Joel's second highest peaker and Becky's highest! k62Zom00wnk
December 28, 20222 yr Lots of faves here recently so I'll just mention a couple - Baby is an absolute Charli essential, loving the Janet Jackson vibes on that  BREAK MY SOUL was the perfect comeback for Beyoncé imo, still a bop to this day. Interesting you say Beach House was Carly's biggest hit for a while as it's easily my least favourite single from her latest album :kink: but still good to see it here!
December 29, 20222 yr Author Thanks so much Ansel! I definitely understand Beach House being divisive :kink: but I found it so much fun!
December 29, 20222 yr Author Songs: Top 300 111 Carrie Underwood - Ghost Story | 4-11-14-22-34-35-x 112 Disco Lines - Baby Girl | 14-4-10-13-25-38-x 113 Harry Styles - Daydreaming | 5-23-32-x 114 Alyssa Reid - Paranoid | 37-x-8-4-6-21-28-39-x 115 Michael Aldag - Ghosted | 16-7-11-20-x 116 Greyson Chance - Athena | 4-9-15-22-39-x 117 Ruth B. - Dandelions | 10-8-19-x 118 JVKE & Ruel - golden hour | 15-6-16-20-24-… 119 Jennifer Lopez - After Love | 4-10-15-31-36-x 120 Isac Elliot feat. 1.Cuz - Lowkey | 5-9-13-23-29-37-x 2022 was the year Isac Elliot started to achieve consistent success in his homeland of Finland after almost a decade of occasional hits. Lowkey peaked at #8 there, but managed to fare even better in my chart and reach my top 5, his second highest Finnish-language track to date and the second highest peaking Finnish-language song in my chart's history! Isac has one more song remaining this year, as does Greyson Chance, whose Athena (goddess of wisdom and warfare) hit my top 5 on debut. Jennifer Lopez, by contrast, makes her final appearance, with the highest placed song from the Marry Me soundtrack, the gorgeous After Love, which became her first top 5 hit since 2018's Dinero. Ruth B. and Disco Lines make their first and last appearances with their debut hits, though I did know Ruth's Lost Boy when that came out, it would've just missed my top 40. Another artist who makes his first and last appearance is JVKE, whose golden hour became a viral hit, but it was the remix with Ruel that turned it into a hit in my chart. It's the latter's first appearance of four this year! Michael Aldag's social media-inspired Ghosted was a song I somehow missed in 2021, but it got its justice in 2022 when it peaked at #7 (abruptly pushed out of the top 40 after its fourth week with the release of Harry's House). Speaking of, Harry Styles pops up again with Daydreaming, an instant top 5 hit in the album's release week. Alyssa Reid also loses another song from her ASHS project; Paranoid was a 2020 singe but, much like My Ex, had a big resurgence with the release of the ASHS album and peaked at #4! Two more songs from that album remain, plus one more Alyssa song from 2022. Rounding up the section, Carrie Underwood's Ghost Story was the lead single from the Denim & Rhinestones album. It remains the highest peaking from the album in my chart, getting to #4, but it's pipped to the highest song from the era in my EOY! eL8XNWteDTg
December 30, 20222 yr Posting these sections in a weird way ahaha. 175 Beyoncé - BREAK MY SOUL | 9-17-24-33-x 179 Tom Grennan - All These Nights | 35-25-34-14-19-31-36-x 162 Alesso & Katy Perry - When I'm Gone | 6-13-18-25-35-x 168 venbee & goddard. - messy in heaven | 13-9-11-22-36-x 151 Chanel - SloMo | 7-33-x 143 Tate McRae - what would you do? | 21-8-18-26-36-x 144 Ed Sheeran - Celestial | 8-20-28-x 147 Camila Cabello feat. Ed Sheeran - Bam Bam | 26-14-8-15-23-x 149 Griff & Sigrid - Head on Fire | 6-11-17-40-x some great stuff which will appear in mine too. 'Head On Fire' deserved top 40 and Tom Grennan probably should have done a bit better than #37 too.
December 30, 20222 yr and 'Freaky Deaky' and 'Dandelions' are both great too. Both have just shown up in mine as well not too far off on either of our charts.
December 30, 20222 yr here's my faves so far 294 Madonna & Sickick - Frozen | 20-x – great reworking here, shame its TikTok success couldn't translate into UK chart success but it did pass 100m Spotify streams globally at least 276 Ellie Goulding - Let It Die | 18-x – like this one a fair bit more out of the Ellie songs though 235 Cardi B, Kanye West & Lil Durk - Hot Shit | 8-30-x – though I do hope we get some better songs from her in 2023 237 Nicki Minaj - Super Freaky Girl | 16-35-x 225 Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz & Encanto Cast - We Don't Talk About Bruno | 24-32-x 186 Ellie Goulding feat. Big Sean - Easy Lover | 9-21-35-x 177 Sigala - Melody | 7-16-32-x 175 Beyoncé - BREAK MY SOUL | 9-17-24-33-x – great comeback for Beyoncé, it was my fave of hers in a while 168 venbee & goddard. - messy in heaven | 13-9-11-22-36-x 162 Alesso & Katy Perry - When I'm Gone | 6-13-18-25-35-x 160 Bugzy Malone & TeeDee - Out of Nowhere | 39-19-18-15-7-… – huge bop, could possibly break my top 40 in the new year 156 Jonasu & KOOLKID - Why Don't We | 8-16-23-… 154 PNAU & Troye Sivan - You Know What I Need | 7-12-22-… 151 Chanel - SloMo | 7-33-x 121 Joel Corry & Becky Hill - HISTORY | 5-8-13-21-33-37-x – my fave of Joel Corry's efforts this year also, though Becky outdid it with "Run"
December 30, 20222 yr Hey there Joseph! Here are my favourites from your latest selection: 113 Harry Styles - Daydreaming | 5-23-32-x 118 JVKE & Ruel - golden hour | 15-6-16-20-24-… 121 Joel Corry & Becky Hill - HISTORY | 5-8-13-21-33-37-x 122 Harry Styles - Love of My Life | 6-27-36-x-27-x 136 Charli XCX - Baby | 8-16-31-32-37-x 138 Harry Styles - Daylight | 9-35-x-12-36-x 140 Seeb & Alexander Stewart - Would You Lie | 8-14-23-39-x 141 Nathan Dawe feat. Ella Henderson - 21 Reasons | 9-11-26-x 142 Em Beihold - Numb Little Bug | 18-21-20-9-18-29-x 143 Tate McRae - what would you do? | 21-8-18-26-36-x 144 Ed Sheeran - Celestial | 8-20-28-x 147 Camila Cabello feat. Ed Sheeran - Bam Bam | 26-14-8-15-23-x 149 Griff & Sigrid - Head on Fire | 6-11-17-40-x
December 30, 20222 yr Author Songs: Top 300 101 ROLE MODEL - cross your mind | 4-10-14-23-31-x 102 Seafret - Atlantis | 5-10-15-24-35-x 103 Tom Odell - Flying :)) | 6-7-16-19-29-x 104 Charli XCX - Used to Know Me | 39-x-23-15-7-17-24-32-x 105 Carrie Underwood - Denim & Rhinestones | 37-29-23-34-37-x-22-10-22-32-x 106 Greyson Chance - Palladium | 13-13-4-17-21-32-x 107 That band Honey. - Tattoo | 18-5-4-11-22-34-… 108 Cody Lovaas - Strangle You | 3-9-20-38-x 109 Nathan Gurd - Substitute | 5-9-16-34-x 110 Eddie Benjamin - Weatherman | 6-9-18-38-x-27-x Two years on from his first top 10 hit, Eddie Benjamin made a comeback to the top tier. Weatherman matched the exact peak of Fuck My Friends, albeit getting there much quickly. Unfortunately, despite Capital FM support (and Eddie even getting a slot at the Summertime Ball), the song didn't show any signs of taking off. Nathan Gurd also returned with a second top 10, though his first only came at the end of 2021. Either way, Substitute also matched the peak of its predecessor Talk That Talk, though it was his only release of 2022. A few artists in this section scored their first top 10 hit in 2022. Powered by viral success on TikTok, British duo Seafret scored their first UK top 40 hit with a song that was released in 2016. I'd never heard it before, but I instantly loved the song and it peaked at #5 in my chart this year. Cody Lovaas had one top 40 hit to his name before 2022, a #22 hit in 2019 called Love No More, but he made the top tier with Strangle You for the first time this year, soaring as high as #3. It's a less violent song than it sounds, I promise...! That band Honey. also scored a top 10 hit for the first time with Tattoo. The duo, including Good Trouble star Booboo Stewart, were entered to BJSC by me in the final contest of the year. Familiar faces include this year's highest appearance from Greyson Chance which the title track of his latest album. Palladium proved to be a grower for me, unlike most Greyson tracks. The title track of Carrie Underwood's latest album is also her highest this year; Denim & Rhinestones still feels like a Carrie song at its core, with a sprinkle of pop running through its veins. Tom Odell's Flying :)) was one of the more optimistic songs on his latest album, and it leaves two more songs in the running. Charli XCX also has two songs left now Used to Know Me drops out. I was sceptical of the overdone sample at first, but Charli makes it work in a way that makes it feel fresh! Finally, just missing out on the top 100 is ROLE MODEL's latest single cross your mind. Whether this is the first single from his next album or not, I'm not sure, but it's a catchy pop anthem and is his second best performing track this year. GP5lePy2SbE
December 30, 20222 yr Author Songs: Top 300 91 Robin Packalen feat. Maejor - Magic | 5-8-14-17-21-32-40-x 92 Dove Cameron - Boyfriend | 23-35-21-8-12-17-20-18-25-39-x 93 Conan Gray - Memories | 5-11-17-22-30-x 94 Kado, Powfu & Promoting Sounds - Tired Eyes | 3-11-15-29-x 95 Charlie Puth - Charlie Be Quiet! | 5-9-17-31-x 96 Maisie Peters - Cate’s Brother | 7-12-28-29-22-24-38-x 97 Tom Odell - Smiling All the Way Back Home | 3-8-14-18-29-33-37-x 98 Nessa Barrett - tired of california | 5-7-19-23-30-x 99 glaive - all dogs go to heaven (outro) | 6-15-23-29-39-x-34-x 100 Jax - Victoria’s Secret | 8-7-10-21-28-37-x A viral sit saw Jax score her first chart hit around the world, and with a bit of growing, Victoria's Secret became a top 10 hit for me too, being one of a narrowing number of #6-10 peaking tracks in this countdown. Also making the top 10 with her first chart appearance was Nessa Barrett, who I'd heard a couple of songs by before but tired of california was the first to really click! Dove Cameron's bisexual anthem Boyfriend wasn't her first chart hit, but it did provide her with her first top 10 hit and biggest hit to date, with an #8 peak and a lengthy chart run to go with it. all dogs go to heaven (subtitled 'outro' as the final song of the original parent EP of the same name) was a rare tender moment from glaive, and it saw him at #6 in the week I discovered him, only trailing poison, that week's #1. Tom Odell's Smiling All the Way Back Home was also the final track on his album, and it ended the album on a positive note, also being the final song he performed before his album signing at Rough Trade East. It's the joint-highest peaking track from this album. Conan Gray's Memories didn't quite have as long a run as most of the singles from this era, but it's held up really well for me and I'd say it's outperformed expectations with this EOY position! Conan has another couple of tracks still to come, much like Charlie Puth, whose self-referential Charlie Be Quiet! is one of my favourite songs from its parent album. Powfu helped Kado achieve a first hit with Tired Eyes, released via Promoting Sounds, a label which is credited also as an artist. Powfu still has another three songs to feature in this year's top 100! It's the first and only appearance of the year for Maisie Peters at #96, whose Cate's Brother outdoes her previous biggest hit (as lead artist) Psycho, which was EOY #111 last year. Closing out the section is the only song from Robin Packalen to feature this year. Magic was Robin's fourth top 10 hit, and comes after he finished 2nd in last year's countdown wit Hard to Love. ido6tZERJZY
December 30, 20222 yr 'Atlantis' is a great song. TikTok certainly helping with discovering songs people missed at the time. One good thing to come out of it at least along with helping some decent newer tracks too also. I wasn't crazy on 'Boyfriend' but good for Dove scoring a UK Top 10 single nonetheless! 'Used To Know Me' and 'Victoria's Secret' are both ok too but nothing more for me.
December 30, 20222 yr I saw "Booty" and I am pleased. It's a banger! Are the BJSC girlies ready for this though? :P
December 30, 20222 yr Hey Joseph! Here my faves so far! 293 Carly Rae Jepsen - Western Wind | 20-x I'm.nif even sure if this made my EOY at all. I can't remember. It was quite the letdown as a comeback single though. 294 Madonna & Sickick - Frozen | 20-x 282 Rina Sawayama - This Hell | 27-39-33-31-23-37-x good bop! Unfortunately I took a while to get on board with this but once I did it hit me hard. Rina has 5 songs in my top 50 which is still to come! 252 Rina Sawayama - Hold the Girl | 17-32-x Lively song and I'm actually quite shocked at the shirt chart run for this. How I didn't notice this though when I comment on your chart every week is beyond me  256 Ava Max - Million Dollar Baby | 16-35-x 237 Nicki Minaj - Super Freaky Girl | 16-35-x 225 Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz & Encanto Cast - We Don't Talk About Bruno | 24-32-x 191 Ava Max - Weapons | 9-20-28-39-x This took a wee while but I'm fully on board with this now. It's a bop! It's also depressing watch single after single flop though. I would love to zss her album do really well, so here's hoping to that. 184 Tate McRae - she's all i wanna be | 36-x-19-30-x-15-x  185 Demi Lovato - SKIN OF MY TEETH | 6-16-30-x 186 Ellie Goulding feat. Big Sean - Easy Lover | 9-21-35-x 173 Carly Rae Jepsen - Beach House | 7-17-33-x This has continually grown on me throughout the year and has in fact just hit a new peak on my chart. This is really surprising because it's outlasted all of the other tracks I've chatted from the album after a really slow start. 175 Beyoncé - BREAK MY SOUL | 9-17-24-33-x 179 Tom Grennan - All These Nights | 35-25-34-14-19-31-36-x 162 Alesso & Katy Perry - When I'm Gone | 6-13-18-25-35-x 160 Bugzy Malone & TeeDee - Out of Nowhere | 39-19-18-15-7-… 143 Tate McRae - what would you do? | 21-8-18-26-36-x 144 Ed Sheeran - Celestial | 8-20-28-x 147 Camila Cabello feat. Ed Sheeran - Bam Bam | 26-14-8-15-23-x 149 Griff & Sigrid - Head on Fire | 6-11-17-40-x  I had forgotten all about this. A true gem from the last year. 133 Carrie Underwood - Crazy Angels | 6-16-19-23-x 121 Joel Corry & Becky Hill - HISTORY | 5-8-13-21-33-37-x 124 Tyga & Doja Cat - Freaky Deaky | 6-14-19-21-25-29-x 127 Avril Lavigne feat. blackbear - Love It When You Hate Me | 4-11-19-36-x 111 Carrie Underwood - Ghost Story | 4-11-14-22-34-35-x 96 Maisie Peters - Cate’s Brother | 7-12-28-29-22-24-38-x Fabulous picks so far! ^_^
December 31, 20222 yr Nice to see these songs on your list: 96 Maisie Peters - Cate’s Brother 104 Charli XCX - Used to Know Me 109 Nathan Gurd - Substitute
December 31, 20222 yr Author Songs: Top 300 81 Andreas Wijk - if I was gay | 2-9-17-27-32-38-… 82 Conan Gray - Jigsaw | 3-5-13-21-29-38-x 83 Alyssa Reid - Cold | 13-7-5-15-23-37-x 84 HRVY - Never Be Us | 6-2-10-11-16-21-35-x 85 Avril Lavigne feat. YUNGBLUD - I’m a Mess | 3-4-11-20-30-33-x 86 Tiësto & Charli XCX - Hot In It | 4-11-32-29-38-x 87 Anson Seabra - Peter Pan Was Right | 3-11-17-36-x-39-x 88 Will Linley - Last Call | 3-5-… 89 Conan Gray - Disaster | 4-7-15-36-33-x 90 Powfu, Rxseboy, Tia Tia & Shalfi - shade of blue | 5-8-11-… There's double Conan Gray in this section as he loses his last two remaining songs. Disaster was the biggest bop on the Superache album and peaked at #4 in the album's release week, while the dramatic Jigsaw was his first release of the year, peaking at #3 on a competitive week (where both songs that beat it are still in the countdown). Also topping out in this section is Anson Seabra, who scored his biggest hit to date with the long-awaited official version of Peter Pan Was Right, which re-entered my top 40 after I saw him live supporting Dean Lewis. Avril Lavigne's top track of 2022 was her YUNGBLUD collaboration I'm a Mess, which peaked at #3, higher than any track from the Love Sux era (as well as being YUNGBLUD's first top 10 hit). In a mixed bag 2022 for HRVY, he still achieved a big hit in dance bop Never Be Us. The track was never released as a single unfortunately but it's comfortably the best track he put out this year. Andreas Wijk had a poignant hit with if I was gay, an emotional track that pondered how people would react if he came out (which is exactly what he did on Instagram!). It became his highest charting track to date, peaking at #2. Will Linley made his chart debut in 2022 with miss me (when you're gone), but it's Last Call which is his only EOY appearance. A hit late into the year, Last Call became his first top 10, peaking at #3. Also in this section, Powfu's latest hit shade of blue roped in long-time collaborator Rxseboy as well as singer Tia Tia and guitarist Shalfi, with production from Sarcastic Sounds, to score another top 5 hit on the week of his album's release. The first two named artists have more tracks to come (as does Sarcastic Sounds), the latter two are one hit wonders as things stand. Tiësto's biggest chart hit of the year was The Motto, but in my chart it was Hot In It which gave him a top 10, with an energetic and fun vocal from Charli XCX, who has one song left. One of the earliest hits of the year, Cold became a top 5 hit for Alyssa Reid with the release of the ASHS album, summarising all releases she put out under that stage name. She has one more song to come from that project, as well as one more recent single release. D8rlcLH0pqk
December 31, 20222 yr What Would You Do, Boyfriend and Cate's Brother are all brilliant! Loving the Charli XCX entries too :)
