Posted December 23, 200618 yr In the 60’s we had Bob Dylan, The Doors , Janis Joplin, Barry McGuire with “the eve of destructionâ€. In the70’s there was Harrison and Lennon. In the 80’s we had Billy Bragg, Paul weller, Bruce Springsteen. Up to date we have Green Day. I’m sure there are others I’ve missed, but is it good for musicians to use their fame to make political statements?
December 24, 200618 yr I'm a big Paul Weller fan and I heard him say recently that he now regrets his association with Red Wedge and the Labour Party, but he wrote some great songs in the Jam and Style Council which reflected his views on life at the time.
