Everyone raves about Blondie in the late 70’s early 80’s but another similar band The Pretenders fronted by Chrissie Hynde wrote a mean pop song. Songs like Kid, Stop your sobbing, Brass in pocket , Back on the chain gang , I go to sleep and I‘ll stand by you.

Always in the shadow of Blondie, I was a big fan of them. Tradegy struck the band in the 80’s with the deaths of guitarists Farndon and Honeyman-Scott.

But I think they were a great band of the 80’s.

tbh, i think the pretenders were better. i didnt like blondies 'disco' phase, and i think chrissie hynde is very underrated in rock history.

'stop your sobbing' was written by ray davies though :)

'kid', 'talk of the town', 'stop your sobbing' were excellant!

Yes, unfortunately Chrissie Hynde is very underrated!

PS I like both Blondie and The Pretenders

I like both bands, both had great songs.

I think my fav Pretenders song is Hymn To Her (Dec 86), gorgeous power ballad.
