December 25, 20222 yr Author #5: emails i can't send - Sabrina Carpenter Sabrina Carpenter entered my playlists last September with her single skinny dipping. The spoken-style verses, quiet guitar strumming and build into the brilliant chorus made the track for me giving Sabrina's debut chart entry 3 consecutive weeks at #5! 2nd single Fast Times was underwhelming in comparison, but still charted at #27. Then, 3rd single Vicious became the big one. Like her other hit, it debuted lower down at #23, though instead of taking 4 weeks to enter the top 10, it did so on its 2nd, before climbing to the #1 spot in its 4th week! The album also spawned another top 5 in because i liked a boy, Sabrina's telling of the story behind the media-inflicted battle between Sabrina & Olivia supposedly over boy Joshua Bassett. All of the album tracks charted, and it spawned two other moderate hits, named Read Your Mind, and the Viral Nonsense, which has now officially reached my Top 10 due to a christmas tounge-in-cheek remix! It is a brilliant album full of stories, and one of this years greatest outputs. I look forward to Sabrina's 2023, especially hoping for an international tour! December 25, 20222 yr Author #4: Love Sux - Avril Lavigne Avril's long-awaited comeback which returned her to her iconic rock&roll sound. She kicked off the era last November with lead single Bite Me. It spent 4 weeks at #2 stuck behind All Too Well until it finally reached #1 in the final week of 2021. This year, the album dropped giving her another #1 in title track Love Sux, as well as 5 other top 10s! The album recently also had a deluxe version, and track from that Mercury In Retrograde is currently doing very well. It gave Avril another top 5! I'm so glad Avril is releasing music she likes and enjoys, and though people criticised her for releasing the same style of music she did as a teenager despite being almost 40, I love it, its nostalgic and verrrrry catchy! <3 love u avril Personal Charts History #1 Albums Chart Peak Singles Chart: 19.11.21 1 Bite Me 21.1.22 6 Love It When You Hate Me (ft. blackbear) 04.03.21 1 Love Sux 04.03.22 5 Kiss Me Like The World Is Ending 04.03.22 7 Cannonball 04.03.22 6 F.U. 04.03.22 7 Avalanche 04.03.22 18 Dare To Love Me 04.03.22 23 Déjà Vu 04.03.22 20 All I Wanted (ft. December 25, 20222 yr Author #3: Red (Taylor's Version) - Taylor Swift Her first of two entries in the top 3, and its an album that didn't even come out this year! It also makes it a 2nd year running in the albums top 3, after being #2 last year! The album opened with dominating force - the first album to have the entire top 10, the first album to have 29 songs in the top 50 simultaneously, the first album to hold the top 2 for 2 consecutive weeks, the first song to spend 6 weeks at #1 (All Too Well [still the longest running #1 my chart has). Then in January it claimed 2 more chart toppers as Red spent 3 weeks there and Message In A Bottle toppled it for a further week. This is the biggest album in my charts history, though Midnights is coming close on its tail, and it settles comfortably at #3 for this years album EOY! December 25, 20222 yr Author Oh I think Taylor could be pipped by Tate then perhaps :o No worries re 'Thumbs', also not saying now but somewhen in the future it'd be lovely to see you take part in BJSC! im dying to share  but no i'll let the suspense build haha. it is veeeeeery close though so tbh it could even change before the announcement :o also, yeah i'll need to look into it a bit more about how and more info, but it is soething i'd like to get more info and hopefully take part in in 2023!
December 25, 20222 yr I'd imagine it is but since Tate could be your #1 single maybe then I wonder if she could potentially do the double
December 25, 20222 yr Author Conor's Top 20 Albums of 2022 #2: i used to think i could fly - Tate McRae Tate has been an artist i've had my eye on for a while. From her smash hit you broke me first she was someone I wanted to keep an eye on. In 2021 she released singles You in collaboration with Regard & Troye Sivan, as well as working with Khalid. Both were big hits for me last year, with You reaching its prime before my charts came about but still managed the top 20, and working was a #3 peaking hit. Then in January she released she's all i wanna be. The pop-punk influenced banger debuted within the top 10 for Tate, and after a 7 week climb it finally reached the top, spending 3 weeks there across April. To date, it has spent 37 weeks on chart, the 2nd longest running song ever, and spent 20 consecutive weeks in the top 10! This got me hyped for the album, and in mid-May she released new single what would you do?. This one was even more instant and debuted straight at the top before spending 14 consecutive weeks inside the top 5. And when the album came out, she became only the 2nd artist to occupy the entire top 3! She got another #1 from it, 8 top 10s and its the only album to have every song from it peak in the top 15! It certainly has been a huge year for Tate, and until about 2 months ago she was almost certainly locked in for the biggest album of the year, until Taylor Swift came along... For a debut album though, it was absolutely huge (even bigger than SOUR which was the top album of last year!) Its been an incredible year for Tate and I can't wait to see what she brings next year, hopefully a tour!
