Fittingly starting proceedings is Dusky's masterful remix of Orbital's 'Are We Here?'. The bass and especially the 808s and low-end are insane on this, along with the gorgeous emotional vocal line reinvent this 90s track with a timeless sound. Listen on headphones for an otherworldly experience. niina served an ethereal, euphoric banger with 'miss me', not to be confused with 'miss u', her song sent to BJSC by D'yer'maker. We love dance music with great, touching and relatable lyrics. The car alarms go off even more in the music video mix.

Soccer Mommy had a decent chart run despite a somewhat underwhelming peak. I love her nostalgic 90s indie rock, shoegaze sound. The loopy synth on the chorus here and her vocals are especially great. 'Centrifuge Me' was a fabulous follow up to 'Us Ephemeral' for Vitesse X. She imagined a ravey, witchy vapor-D&B cyber dance floor with this one. BABii's 2022 mixtape brought us an eye sore of track titles but also several immaculate bangers, one of them being the dreamy and vibey 2-step of 'LiiTE'.

I. JORDAN's rebranding went down really well on my chart; the fun 'Hey Baby' with its killer bassline recalls that of a disorientating, after-hours classic techno jam. Machine Woman was a new female producer that appeared on my radar this year. Her dark ambient, dub techno sound is really captivating. TSHA continued to rack up top 10s on my chart. The very instant 'Giving Up' found just the right middle ground between mainstream and indie, appearing on both Radio 1 and 6 Music's playlists.

X CLUB. also had an impressive string of consecutive top 10s, with 'Everything Comes True' being the longest charting of the bunch. It's a blissful techno stomper with a catchy spoken female vocal. Doss's Spotify-exclusive 'Cherry' became her highest-charting single to-date and 4th successive top 10 on my chart. It's probably her most commercial, somewhat uninspired single in a while but it's an earworm and I'm a sucker for a quality G-house tune.

Two fantastic PinkPantheress singles in this section. Her ear for innovative sounds and angelic voice has no bounds. WILLOW and Sam complemented her so well on these tracks. She is the moment. ABSOLUTE.'s mega bop 'Stuck In Love' has a great combination of 80s electro, breakbeat and 90s rave synth stabs.

Jessie Ware served vocals for days on the uplifting 'Free Yourself'. Current Kathaldazia BJSC entry 'In My Mind' also sneaks into the EOY despite only 7 weeks on the chart and counting. Amour is one of numerous Australian acts that have broken through onto the electronic underground scene in recent years. This song's strobe-lit melodies and infectious clipped vocals, handclaps and cowbells is not too far off recent music by my faves Overmono.

Ooh what a strong start! From your 75-71 section I also charted the Orbital, Soccer Mommy, Vitesse X AND BABii/Iglooghost songs  I wasn't aboard the Soccer Mommy hype train yet, from the admittedly little I knew, but the Sometimes, Forever album has completely changed that! I've really been getting into that shoegaze type of sound more this year.

Some further great electronic tunes elsewhere from Doss, I. JORDAN, PinkPantheress, ABSOLUTE and Jessie Ware too *.*

Looking forward to seeing what else is on the way. Predicting very good things for Eliza Rose x

Looking forward to the rest of this, I'll check out what I've missed later but from what I know I did enjoy the Doss, PinkPantheress, Joshua Amour, Jessie Ware and Absolute tracks. Jessie's particularly was her strongest in a while, and further helped for me by the Paul Woolford remix.

This should be interesting! I'm starting to make my Year-End list for the year as well.

Love seeing "Free Yourself" in your Year-End list.

Giving Shotgun a listen now - the instrumentation and melody are both pretty nice! I haven't listened to anything from her since rom com 2004, I should try and pay her some more attention.

Ty for the comments!

Thanks Jade 💞

Yay at you approving of so many. Sometimes Forever is a great album from Miss Mommy, although Color Theory is still her best for me and I go back to it a lot more. Sometimes Forever still gave us Shotgun which is up there with her best

Eliza is definitely contending for #1

Ty! After letting the song settle a bit, I don't think Free Yourself is up there with a lot of the What's Your Pleasure era but that was always going to be tough to follow up

I loved rom com 2004! She's very consistent and has a lot of nostalgic rock gems. circle the drain, up the walls, yellow is the color of her eyes are all worth checking out too

BABii appears for a 2nd time with this fun, cutting-edge 00s bassline music throwback. It's a right tune. DJ Counselling made my EOY last year with 'Reflection' and here he is again with 'Pulses of Light' this year, an incredible deep melodic piece which feels like the embrace of a warm hug. Not to be confused with WILLOW, the daughter of Will Smith, Willo is a rising female electronic producer from (you guessed it) Australia. She broke out on the underground scene this year with her Past Time EP, 'Think' from the EP, has an immense ambient vibe and progressive broken sequence that feels so right.

'Rash Devices' was a highlight from Vitesse X's debut album and became her 4th consecutive top 10 on my chart. It has an infectious, space-like sound, spangled guitar and 2-step elements. Man of the moment, Fred again.., makes his first of a few EOY appearances with 'Bleu' which samples a vocal by rapper Yung Bleu, but somehow makes it sound euphoric with an underlying message of hope. I especially love the chopped vocal breakdowns on this one.

Absolutely LOVE Free Yourself - truly a future classic  Shotgun is also great and I really enjoyed Soccer Mommy's album. Also great to see the two PinkPantheress tracks, they're not quite on the same level as the 'to hell with it' era but still bangers!
looking forward to your rundown and will check out some tracks I don't know yet. So far my favorites are fantastic PinkPantheress and Jessie Ware.

'Inside' was the lead single from SWIM's latest EP 11:11 as well as another smash on my chart, becoming his 6th top 10 hit. Also in this section is the euphoric No_4mat remix of SWIM's 'Better Now' which became his third k👠th chart topper. SWIM's brand of ravey house and progressive breaks has yet to bore me, although the follow-ups to 'Inside' have either missed my top 10 ('Blur') or failed to chart altogether ('Before the Storm' and 'Nothing Can Change').

Multichart topper 'Beg For You' with its 'Cry For You' interpolation and catchy 2-step was one of my fave UK chart hits of the year. I love how Charli goes for it on the vocals in the final chorus. Sporadic music releaser Sky Ferreira returned in 2022 with some grungy synthpop perfection. The way her vocal melody is in sync with the chord progression on this track made me go back to it a lot hence the extended chart run. It's immaculately produced and performed despite what Pitchfork says.

Those who follow my chart among other things on Buzzjack will know how much I stan Overmono and 'Diamond Cut', despite only being a b-side to 'Bby', was no exception. It racked up an impressive 15 weeks on my chart. They captured the true essence of early 2-step (this genre has really had a resurgence recently!?) with the insane bass, percussion and cute Erika de Casier 'Space' sample.

Overmono have 3 more tracks to come still :w00t:

'Beg For You' is a tune too. Shall be in mine somewhere.

Really like seeing "Beg For You" in here!

Great list so far!

Thanks guys! It was a massive staple on my playlists at the start of the year. A very deserved chart hit for 2 under-rated queens

KH, aka Four Tet, released the bonkers banger we needed with its audacious rework of 3LW's 'No More (Baby I'ma Do Right)'. The track became a surprise Multichart hit. Sofia Kourtesis scored her highest charting single to date (and 2nd top 10) with "Estación Esperanza". The song has an almost afro house sound to it but with an inspired interpolation of Manu Chao's "Me Gustas Tu" and a Peruvian chant against homophobia.

2022 saw acclaimed producer Leon Vynehall adopt a more club-minded approach to music. It went down well on my chart with him scoring a 3rd top 10 single with the hypnotic, dark and dingy club banger "Endless (I)". South African producer Ryan Murgatroyd added a 4th top 5 hit to his tally with his collaboration with Cape Town producer Phoebe Pemberton on the melodic house anthem "It's Not Cloudy Anymore". Also in this section is Kathaldazia BJSC top 5 smash "Garonor". Hard hitting progressive techno with an acid breakdown and a highly entertaining workout music video.

Looking At Your Pager and Garner both made my weekly top 50, great finds from the forum this year.
