Wardy has designated me as the person to open such a hallowed thread. It's your time to become the prophet, blessing nations for a fruitful year and condemning others for a year of snubs and floppery.

What do you think will happen in BJSC, including the spin-offs?

I will go first...

  • Persephonia and Jadakissnia both win at least once.
  • Either one of Pagasa, Singerpurear, Suedeonia, Eastovka, Buzzjack Mountain will win at least once.
  • A foreign language entry will win at least once.
  • BJFest to return with République d'Áskorza winning.
  • Zanmatony will send an entry that goes on to achieve a UK Top 40 peak.
  • Greenfroze will win with an entry that I will have given 18 points to.
  • Kathaldazia will win the best song contest host, and the winner of the edition she hosts will be a track she gives more than 10 points to.
  • 1 new country will debut and begin with last place in the semi, then get a top 10 in the following edition.
  • Sovarasma will not qualify 4 times at least.
  • Pop bloc will retain their strong form.

Someone who has won but not for a very long time will be among next year's winners. But no debuts.

Two of Kluminican Republic, Persephonia, Terra Avium, Cumulonimbia and Kathaldazia will win.

One of Lookylion, Bhangra, Greenfroze or Quintessa will also win.

FARC, Aeroche and Altyr will all get one each, but ONE of these will also suffer two DNQs during the year.

Cor Lupus will win once, or come extremely close, but at least two winners from other nations will be songs on their potentials list.

Botanikka will have a big comeback year with multiple top 10 hits.

A 10 minute-plus long song will breach the top three.

Jade will fail to win any spin-offs but will have her biggest year yet in the main contest.

Zanmatony will have a big top five hit.

East Rukahavian will switch to an unexpected genre at some point and bag a top ten nobody sees coming.

One of the winners will be decided on a tie-break between a slightly cheap pop song and a niche track that racks up the 18s. The pop song wins as it has more voters and causes an uproar.

At least five of the top three finishers will have been discussed as potential vetoes before slipping through and soaring to success.

At least three PJSC winners will be recycled from there and turn up, most will do well but one is a huge flop.

République d'Áskorza will manage their biggest hit in years as they strike gold with a hit that's big in Germany.

A major nation (one from this year's EOY top 10) will shockingly score under 20 points in a semi final when their song ends up with a completely unsuitable semi draw.

Summericia's streak of qualifiers will continue for a while yet.

As mentioned already Persephonia and FSR Rontvia will manage their first win in YEARS.

Aeroche bag 2 winners also.

Harmonica manage 2 or 3 Top 10's

Mulgracia score one big hit all year and also manage to Qualify for 7/10 contests whilst dnqing at 21st two times.

East Rukahavian don't end up last at all in the semi and grab 2 top 20's.

A rock song finishes in the top 3 for either Seyetana, Wholune or Aelandor

Ojnoj return to drum up several top 10's

A successful country in BJSC will embark on more of a floppy year but not necessarily DNQ.

Also among the nations winning we also get one of either Kathaldazia, Thelonia, Cumulonimbia, Dobago, Eastovka or Singerpurear!

The last place in the semi will receive just 2 points never getting a wooden spoon all year.

Summericias Q Streak ends somewhen (a definite I'd say as another year is probably impossible!)

Cor Lupus receive a close win, 2 top 5's, 4 top 20's and a last place finalist.

• I don’t see this stronghold that the “old guard” has had on the contest will last much longer, I think the dominating countries next year will be ones that have debuted from 2015 onwards.

• probably two new countries the entire year, neither of which will make a big splash but stick around regardless.

• Yobnedorica will have a mildly successful year a la Sovarasma 2022/Tartford 2018

• Jadakissnia gets a win during the next three months, kickstarting a massive comeback year for them

• I think République d'Áskorza have gone under the radar for far too long, surely a slew of smashes is in their future?

• A J-pop song goes top 10

• Debut wins from Zanmatony and Cumulonimbia

• Two BJSC entries, either from 2022 or 2023, will end up charting IRL

• Bray fails to keep up with the YTD again and we get another rushed Year-End update thread :kink:

Idk if I have any forecasts for Cor Lupus, we kinda dodged the “questionable future” part after winning so I’d say we’d just continue being the Maroon 5 of BJSC - a few smashes and moderate success but shoddy reputation amongst the rest of the participants, all while the material is “aggressively mid”.

Some interesting predictions there Wardy, mine is a intriguing one especially, we'll see.

Avalonia won't return cause Regina is banned the last I saw so that's one return that won't be happening oops.

Yes, Regina is banned thank god so we won’t be seeing an Avalonia return ever 🤷‍♂️

MANIFESTING A RAMRYNIA RETURN FORTHWITH

Cor Lupus will give points to all the winners of 2023
…so then y’all better bring it 💅 I can already see a huge K-pop rookie group that debuted this year (Kep1er, LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans) getting sent soon

Wow that’s detailed and yaaaaas at mine!

That'd be a very abrupt turnaround from 2022 if the prediction for me comes true but I can hope x

(Greenfroze have already won twice btw :kink:)

  • Author
Love the detail Wardy! You predicting me to come 2nd with a dance entry hmm  That could only happen in the second half of 2023 considering my first half theme is pop :kink:
You can always just decide to not do that especially as your taste in non-pop music is significantly better

Now that's dedication! Bold prediction there though, my BJSC timekeeping hasn't suffered much thus far despite many years of full time work and travel x

Omg just seen the Fljotavik one too...?! My iron fist will never be deterred by protests xx

Everyone do be stopping me from sending pop next year :kink:
Avalonia won't return cause Regina is banned the last I saw so that's one return that won't be happening oops.

Ah I guess I didn’t think that one through properly then, but I did state it would be one of the four, so now make that one of three! ;)

(Greenfroze have already won twice btw :kink:)

Ah my bad I thought I checked this carefully, well then this will be their third victory to come!

Now that's dedication! Bold prediction there though, my BJSC timekeeping hasn't suffered much thus far despite many years of full time work and travel x

I am intrigued to see how these pan out, the timekeeping does feel a bit off par with you so that’s why it’s a noteworthy event in your year! As for the Fljótavík protest, I will leave the details of this protest to be revealed in due course. ;)

• Jadakissnia gets a win during the next three months, kickstarting a massive comeback year for them

Jadakissnia will not win in 2023
