January 23, 20232 yr The rest of the songs are out (Maria still has the best one out of the lot, for me) but overall - I’m underwhelmed this year. I don’t see any of these songs having a strong path to win. I did read they considered 2 of the songs this year front runners. I wonder who.

January 26, 20232 yr Author My ratings: 1. Triumph (9+/10) 2. Masterpiece (9/10) 3. FREYA (8+/10) 4. Break It (8/10) 5. Not Meant to Be (7/10) 6. Love Again (6/10) 7. Someday (3/10) Well it turns out SF1 is the weakest for me. This semi is not bad and it's very stacked too. Not Meant to Be sounds like Sigrid's Strangers in some places. Edited January 30, 20232 yr by uhsting
January 28, 20232 yr Oh that FREYA performance was very lacklustre. She will need to step it up big time in the final. Rooting for Not Meant To Be, FREYA and Triumph (surprisingly, putting Atle 4th). Edited January 28, 20232 yr by Aaron.
January 29, 20232 yr Author The qualifiers are: Skrellex "Love Again" Eline Thorp "Not Meant to Be" Atle Pettersen "Masterpiece" The most unexpected batch of qualifiers so far for sure! Maria had terrible live which was such a shame considering Freya was a really strong song. Akuvi is robbed however. Happy for Skrellex though! EDIT: Atle went through instead of Stig van Eijk Edited January 29, 20232 yr by uhsting
January 29, 20232 yr Freya was my favourite from that heat but I'll take your word for it that it was terrible live. Good final lineup though for the most part.
January 29, 20232 yr Looking at the semi voting percentages it looks like Honestly has this unless the juries screw her over(if there are juries)
January 29, 20232 yr Maria really Janet Leon-ed herself from that performance. Looks like it'll be between Ulrikke, Alessandra and Jone for the win next week.
January 30, 20232 yr I'm 100% behind Jone, I think that would be a real highlight at Eurovision, it's such a crowdrouser and hearing Norwegian at Eurovision is so rare and long overdue. I did think that Ulrikke would have this, but if Spotify means anything, she's at #67, Jone's at #4!!! Though it may of course still be a case where domestic chart performance doesn't translate into the votes for Eurovision. (Alessandra's at #13, Atle's got himself in at #164 with a well-reviewed performance, a clear 3-way race with an outside chance of 'Masterpiece')
January 30, 20232 yr @1620004004779675648 Running Order for the Final, I think this has really come down to a 4-horse race between Jone, Ulrikke, Atle and Alessandra. For me I'd probably be between Jone and Atle. A Ulrikke win would just be what Norway wants, but the song isn't competitive enough for a win at Eurovision. The same thing happened with TIX when there was a far stronger choice on the table. I like Alessandra's song, but if it wasn't good enough for Klara Hammarström to take out Melodifestivalen, I don't know what result they would expect at Eurovision. Atle's Chest in itself is a Masterpiece and deserves to win.

Geronimo (2/10) Top 5 rating: 9.2/10 Overall rating: 6.74/10 Overall a decent selection but a couple more bad eggs this year
February 4, 20232 yr Alessandra and Atle are quite some distance in the lead with Ulrikke in a distant third.
February 4, 20232 yr Oh wow, Atle completely missed the public vote. I was surprised. BRILLIANT WINNER. as much as I drag MGP at times. This year was SENSATIONAL. This final rivals any Melfest final in the last 10 years as well. Great job.
February 4, 20232 yr It’s Alessandra! That’s great, my favourite comfortably in the final - I wasn’t really getting into Honestly as much as I wanted to, although that sucks for Ulrikke. I reckon Queen of Kings should do very well for Norway in Liverpool, it’s very instant!
