Alison posted on TikTok yesterday to confirm that she is now recording on her own without Will. I wonder what sort of direction we will get? I'm a big fan of their electronic stuff but Alison has a great voice so I'm sure whatever she puts out will be fab.

Not sure if I feel there's a great point to her going "solo" since Goldfrapp was always quite versatile, but maybe she'll surprise us and serve a bubblegum pop-rap album.
First single is with Claptone and it's called Digging Deeper. She's going dance 🤯

VERY intrigued by this!

This comes at a time when I've been rediscovering Goldfrapp, so many great albums! (Not you, Head First)

Does this mean Goldfrapp as a musical duo are no more permanently, or is she just branching out on her own for now? Mind you, it has been 7 years since they last released anything...

She only said in her video on TikTok that this was her first time recording on her own but hasn't suggested that the band is no more. I do hope there is opportunity for more from the two of them together in the future.

They did the soundtrack to the tv series Chloe last year, so I don't think they're done.

Mind you, Will has composed a bunch of soundtracks outside Goldfrapp (the group), so I think they're just doing solo projects after the last 'frapp album didn't do that well.

I think that's probably the limit to what they can achieve these days, to be fair.

Yeah, I mean, I don't think Allison's solo material will be more successful, but I guess the appeal of performing as Goldfrapp (the group) is becoming less because of their dwindling sales. I don't think she expects more success out of this, but I think it's more a case of "might as well give it a go".

In case anyone who'd care missed them, she had several features across Röyksopp's 3 albums last year!

A bop! :music:

I bought ‘Supernature’ on vinyl the other day, really been getting into that album again!

I prefer the radio edit but I'm still on the fence a bit. I guess it's possibly because I was expecting more of an Alison Goldfrapp single where as this feels more like a random feature on someone else's track
According to a clip from Alison earlier, this is essentially a sample taken from one of her upcoming solo songs so it turns out this is basically intended to be a feature on a dance track rather than her proper solo single

Give over! Head First isn’t THAT bad!
