Posted February 2, 20232 yr One of my all times faves Belinda Carlisle is back with new music! Her upcoming album will be her first English-language studio album since 1996 (!) and the first single from it is called 'Big Big Love' and written by no less a songwriting legend than Diane Warren (with whom Belinda has also collaborated previously, most famously for her 1988 UK #10 single 'I Get Weak'). She did Radio 2's Piano Room yesterday, where she performed 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth', 'Big Big Love' and 'Superstar' (a Carpenters song which she previously covered for the 30th anniversary edition of 'Heaven On Earth' in 2017). The whole thing can be heard here: 4sIgMSqIIPM 'Big Big Love' sounds absolutely fantastic on first listen, a big big song (excuse the pun) with proper 80s melodies. Can't wait to hear the produced version, although it's weird that she performed it even though it's not out until March 10th. 'Big Big Love' starts about 8:00 into that clip. I'm fully expecting to be the only Buzzjack member who cares about her comeback :D
February 2, 20232 yr I can’t say this news has me jumping up and down but I’m excited to hear her new single!
February 2, 20232 yr Author It's honestly so good! Much better than that song she released a couple of weeks ago with Dolly Parton, Cyndi Lauper and the rest.
February 2, 20232 yr I do love a bit of Bel Car. Blows my mind she hasn't released an English-language album since 1996 though! I remember the 1996 singles but not how they go, I'll need to reinvestigate.
February 2, 20232 yr love Belinda since I was a kid, was one of first favourites when I started following the charts
