Oh that's true. I forgot about that Beyonce track altogether not to forget it had a Freemasons sprinkling too

Seems they remixed a few of hers, as there's a Freemasons/Beyoncé EP up on Spotify.

9/18: Sophie Ellis - Bextor - Love Is Here (1 week at No.1)

Nearly six years since her second No.1, Sophie was back for her third and final stint atop my chart. She'd had a few No.2s in the interim, while lead single from Trip The Light Fantastic, Catch You, reached No.3 for me. The album was so fantastic and a real return to form for me after I wasn't completely sold on Shoot From The Hip. What particularly helped it was writing and production support from UK indie-pop band The Feeling, whose bassist Richard Jones was now Sophie's husband. Love Is Here could basically be a track by the group with Sophie on vocals - it features their distinctive way with a melody, and their backing vocals are audible on this wonderful slice of 'uplifting in a melancholy way' sort of pop. Sophie's vocal on this track takes me right back to sunny summer 2007 - my definite highlight of the album and I wish it had been a single.

10/18: Kate Nash - Foundations (1 week at No.1)

The success of Lily Allen, MySpace and the DIY bedroom British pop movement in general opened the doors for a lot of new artists in the late 00s to break through. One of the biggest success stories was the unique Kate Nash; with her affected 'I'm Bri'ish m8' accent and sublime songwriting craft she could hardly miss and she massively stood out in a sea of US R&B packing the charts at the time. The fantastic Foundations is the tale of a relationship breaking down, told in a refreshingly funny way in the verses ('you said I must eat so many lemons, 'cos I am so bitter'), while you can feel the genuine emotion of the situation in the chorus. The track stiffed at No.2 in the UK, on one occasion a gutting 16 copies behind Timbaland's The Way I Are, and Kate never came close to the top of the singles chart again, although did have a (brilliant) No.1 album, Made Of Bricks.

11/18: Gwen Stefani - 4 In The Morning (1 week at No.1)

No Doubt's brilliant frontwoman Gwen Stefani initially broke away from the band in 2001, where she scored a hit collaboration with Eve on Let Me Blow Ya Mind. But it was three years later in 2004 that she had her first true solo success, with the kooky What You Waiting For. Gwen had loads of big hits in my chart in the 00s, including Hollaback Girl, Cool, Wind It Up and The Sweet Escape, but she finally got to No.1, eventually, with ballad 4 In The Morning, which was a curious summer release from The Sweet Escape album that peaked at No.22 in the UK. The track - co-written with Tony Kanal from No Doubt - really wormed its way into my affections although many felt Early Winter from the album could have been a better ballad single - that track receiving a release in other European countries in early 2008 and reaching the top ten in Germany.

12/18: Take That - We All Fall Down (2 weeks at No.1)

Finishing off the summer of rather random and subdued No.1s (Foundations aside), before we reach six big hitters for me to finish off the year is...a b-side from Take That. For reasons surely known only to them, after the mammoth chart toppers Patience and Shine, the group picked the bland I'd Wait For Life as the third single from Beautiful World, despite it essentially being a sombre Gary only affair, and where the album still featured a couple of other potential hits like Reach Out and the title track (while my other favourites were Howard's Mancunian Way and Jason's Wooden Boat).

Anyway, I'd Wait For Life was unsurprisingly their biggest flop since the early 90s, peaking at No.17, but I bought it anyway to check out the b-sides, and I instantly enjoyed melodic Mark strummer We All Fall Down, which was presented in an acoustic version on the CD single, although a fully produced version later appeared on a re-release of the Beautiful World album, along with Rule The World. A curiosity, but still a song I enjoy listening to, and a definite case of a b-side being better than the a-side.

Will check that Sophie track as I don’t know it.

'4 In The Morning' is lovely though. An underrated single from Gwen and should have been a top 20 but then it was like the 3rd or 4th release and she didn't have the power other artists had to achieve that I suppose.

"Shoot From The Hip" is my favourite Sophie's album. Both released singles were # 1s and after it "Catch You" also reached the top. In summary she had 5 number ones in my chart (Take Me Home, Get Over You, Mixed Up World, I Won't Change You, Catch You). "Murder On The Dancefloor" was stopped at # 2 by "Calling" and "Something Stupid".

Yes true, the album had sold quite well by that point I guess, and also a ballad in the summer isn't always the best idea for a smash.

Mixed Up World was No.2 and I Won't Change No.3 for me. I didn't mind the album, just preferred the two albums either side.

13/18: Fergie - Big Girls Don’t Cry (4 weeks at No.1)

Black Eyed Peas had never been a huge force on my chart, their biggest hit being Don't Lie, which made my top 10 in 2005, and solo Fergie doing well for me was even less of a prospect - I really didn't care for London Bridge, although liked Glamorous more. But Big Girls Don't Cry was her third release and I absolutely loved this ballad, which went to No.2 in the UK in summer 2007 and had some good chart longevity. The absolute highlight of the song for me is the middle eight, a beautiful change in the melody backed by lovely strings. Just a well produced ballad sung well, it topped my chart for four weeks as the strongest No.1 since Take That's Shine.

14/18: Robyn with Kleerup - With Every Heartbeat (5 weeks at No.1)

One of the most unlikely career revivals ever? Swede Robyn had achieved a few hits here in 1997/8, with songs written with Max Martin before he broke through to work with bigger artists. Show Me Love had reached No.8 here and was even bigger in the US. She continued a lower key career in Sweden after her international success and returned to the top three there in 2005 with Be Mine (which later emerged here as a single in 2008). With Every Heartbeat was a minor hit in Sweden early in 2007, reaching No.23, and you'd think that would have been that but the beautiful electropop track quickly built up an online following, and for once internet hype actually spilled over into the public domain.

Eventually it was picked up for release here with full support from Radio 1 and became a rather unexpected No.1. A quite subtle track in its original version, there was a UK radio version that added an extra chorus towards the end, but the original is the one I love, and which chalked up five weeks at the top for me. Just a perfect track, and of course Robyn has become a cult pop icon ever since but this stunning song is where it all restarted for her.

15/18: Aly & AJ - Potential Break - Up Song (1 week at No.1)

From the Disney stable, sisters Alyson and Amanda Michalka unleashed this pop beast in 2007. A massive earworm which is one of those meta songs about the label needing a specific kind of song for an album, and this being the potential song about a break up. A punky, catchy chorus and slick production, this for me was teen pop of the best kind although for some reason could only peak at No.22 in the UK. They are now - like Robyn - one of those cult acts whose sound has developed and matured over time and who are popular on the internet still, but not so much commercially.

16/18: Delta Goodrem - In This Life (1 week at No.1)

Three VERY long years had passed since Mistaken Identity and Delta was long overdue her third studio album. That materialised in the form of the eponymous Delta, which is my least favourite album of hers but did at least spawn two songs that were mega hits in my chart. In This Life was a very strong lead single, a No.1 in Australia that was more uplifting than her usual ballad releases, built around her 'love and light' phrase that she signs off her posts and letters with, or at least used to. With a rocky production, and a great use of piano, it was almost more Savage Garden kind of territory soundwise, and I was really sad that it didn't get a UK release as by this point she'd decided not to focus on the UK market anymore due to the unwelcome press attention she had here due to her relationship then with Brian McFadden.

If don't count first two Delta albums I heard only "Only Santa Knows".

"Potential Breakup Song" could be my # 1 in 2007, but now in retrospective (if "Gražios Dainos" will move in 2007 year one day) will be lucky to reach top 5.

In the end of year YVA released the third album. Main track "Brunetes Blondines" (my all-time # 2 song) broke a previous Sue Wiliknson / Sinead Quinn record, when spent 11 weeks

on the top.

YVA - Brunetes Blondines

Smile sweetly

And close your eyes.

The cameras flash like a shotgun.

You can from the front,

You can from the side

It's nice to have fun in front of the lens.

You are brunettes,

We are blondes.

Buttoned blouses,

Tempting glances,

Burning eyes.

We are exactly the same,

What about us.

You can be good,

You can be bad,

You can also pose a little naked.

You like to intrigue,

You like to hunt,

You like to seduce and lead guys by the nose.

You are brunettes,

We are blondes.

Buttoned blouses,

Tempting glances,

Burning eyes.

We are exactly the same,

What about us.

Gosh, you've missed some classics in between those albums.

Delta in particular was a very poppy album, you might enjoy it.

Impressive, 2007 was a very good year for music/all-time favourites for me. Quite the lyrics that song has.

'Big Girls Don't Cry', 'With Every Heartbeat' are both highlights of 2007 for sure. Was amazing to see Robyn score a big comeback #1 with that and her follow ups were also just as good imo especially 'Be Mine'. The Christian Falk feature was a great one as well.

Aly and AJ *.* to think they're now a BJSC winner all these years later. I don't think any of their material in the past few years beats this one personally. Such a fun bop and it certainly passed me by that it topped your chart then.

I also like that Delta song too.

Quite the lyrics that son g has.

It's like blonde ladies anthem. My favourite lyrics of YVA song is obviously "Grožio Fabrikas" (Beauty Factory).

I will always have a special place in my heart for this song, but sadly YVA did a bet on other tracks from album, so based on the rules I can't include "Grozio Fabrikas" in top 100.

"Grozio Fabrikas" ("Beauty Factory") is my favourite track from 2nd YVA studio album "Katytes" ("Cats"), which was recorded in 2006. Now my favourite member of group Kristina (blonde lady from my avatar) is not only singer in YVA and Kristal, but also business lady and has small beauty studio.

Based on lyrics it's easily my favourite YVA song, "Grozio Fabrikas" also got the third place in my all YVA songs ranking two years ago. The sentence in my profile "Sielos grožio niekas nepavogs, kol širdy jaunystė gros" (No one will steal the beauty of the soul until the heart is young) was taken from this masterpiece.

I tried to translate it through Google from Lithuanian to English.

YVA - Beauty Factory

Little mirror, tell me how I'll look tomorrow,

When I grow old and bloom, what do you do then?

I want to be forever young, seductive, charming and loved,

Go through life with a smile.

No one will steal the beauty of the soul until the heart is young.

There are not too many sunny days,

Not too much at all, that is beautiful.

There is not too much smile on your face,

There is not too much youth in your heart.

Time runs away impatiently, forget about previous year,

What was yesterday may not be tomorrow.

Enjoy this day, accompany the sun with a song,

After all, life is a gift.

Our hearts will never grow old until the passion lives in them.

There are not too many sunny days,

Not too much at all, that is beautiful.

There is not too much smile on your face,

There is not too much youth in your heart.

Before May 2020 "Grozio Fabrikas" was available on Youtube only on my channel. Please push "Like" button, if you like this song.

Nothing more to say about the sublime With Every Heartbeat.

I haven’t heard Big Girls Don’t Cry for years (playing it now) but it’s beautiful and the lyrics really hit me. Looking forward to it coming up in the #2 sessions.

Brunettes Blondines sounds naff

After it I don't want to know the opinion about "Barbie".
