You seem to have interpreted Darius' words exactly opposite to how I have e-motion, in this instance. For me, he is indicating that he prefers to write uplifting songs, and given the choice, that is what he would choose. I certainly didn't get the feeling he intended only to write sad songs, from what he has posted. Could you explain what you mean? Perhaps I am misunderstanding what you have written :wacko:

Looking again, the use of my word 'only' was incorrect, I added it as an after thought.

What I meant is that the idea that 'the greatest art has always come from suffering', is incorrect and if that misleads him to write only sad songs(in pursuit of being a great artist) then that's a major mistake in thought.

Have you heard all his songs emotion, there is a long list of songs that have been released, some of them B sides which a lot of people think are the best ones. all in all quite a large number of songs, various ones are appearing on my space, chrysallis to a butterfly being one of them being which was the song he sang when he departed from Popstars, the first programme he appeared in, and the song he has reworked and was released as a B side.

I haven't heard any that where not a single or played on TV. I do remember hearing the song he played at the end of popstars. I must that was really good, but I've only heard it the once and was not aware what it was called.

Hello emotion (Ricky?) - it's great that you are interested in finding out what Darius is up to and that you have registered on .net - it's good to get your input! :D If you are inquisitive about his music, I'm surprised you have not checked out D's Myspace (I do realise how time-consuming it is checking out all these websites!! :lol: ), but Darius changes the tracks playing every month or so and atm 'Chrysalis to Butterfly' is on there if you want to hear it in full!!

If you are looking for upbeat you cant beat Love to love, faith in me and only you.

I prefer 'Dive In' and 'I'm Not Buying'. That's one thing - we all like different songs best.

'Dive In' is happy, 'I'm not buying' is sad

 

'Fragile' and 'Tear run dry' are sad...but I love them....'Mystery of you' is happy.......I really like that one and 'Now or Never'...and 'Secret Song'

 

'If I could' and 'Journeys End' are sad ....but they are fantastic

 

'Stars Crash Down'...is happy

I have many times, in fact I started the darius myspace thread! :lol:

Problem is the video's don't show (threfore can't play) for me unless they are YoutTube video's.

I love the Darius who knows what he wants, is determined to get it and doesn't give a hoot about what his critics say or what obstacles are thrown in his path, the Darius who wasn't afraid to turn down 3 recording contracts to be sure of getting his own music out.

 

What he wants now is to make an album entirely of his own conception without having to compromise for anybody and without any time pressure.

 

Darius has the talent and creativity, the means in the form of his own studio and the technical skill but I worry about "pernickety producer" syndrome........left to his own devices, will he be too critical, will he spend ages tinkering when he already has a great track down? Back then he had Steve Lillywhite to say e.g. That's it. The definitive version.

Who's to say he won't have the benefit of Steve Lilleywhite's advice again! :D Darius admits to wanting to work with him again - I wonder if they keep in touch!
