Melanie Martinez is back on Friday with her first new music since 2020 in the form of new single ‘Death’ - and it looks like she’s finally moved away from the ‘dollhouse’ image!

It is also the lead single of her upcoming 3rd studio album "Portals" out on the 31st of March (Two Weeks)!

Really enjoying Death and a good few of the clips form her upcoming album sound so good!

It’s looking set to be her second Top 100 single this week as it’s at #61 in the chart update. It’s not doing much for me sadly though :(

Really enjoying the album, think it's some of her best work. "Evil" and "Void" are highlights.

 

Seems like she could be onto a hit too - "Void" is at #41 on Spotify in the UK already!

I had high hopes coming into this record.... But i think this is terrible. One of the worst albums of the year. i liked Cry Baby & K-12 but this is a major disappointment. But there was a great attempt at worst lyric of the year. "Hope you never cope, hope you slip on soap, Crack your head like an egg, wanna see the yolk". That was taken from EVIL.

Brilliant album. Will probably end up being my fave from her. It feels so cohesive and I love all of the ambient sounds woven throughout.

Spider Web is the absolute gem of the album, but Battle Of the Larynx and Death are also amazing songs. The only weak links for me thus far are Leeches and the 3 deluxe tracks which definitely feel like unnecessary additions to what is already a stellar body of work.
