Posted December 28, 200618 yr Michael Jackson to make Las Vegas comeback? After a self imposed eighteen month long exile to Bahrain and Ireland, "King of Pop", Michael Jackson is back on American soil and planning his comeback in Las Vegas. Reports indicate that Jackson and his three children Paris, Prince Michael, and Prince Michael II touched down in Las Vegas over the holiday weekend. As media reports indicate, Michael Jackson is making Sin City his new home base as he continues to work on his musical comeback. According to E! Online, Michael Jackson and his relocation to Las Vegas was apparently partially motivated by businessman, Jack Wishna, who confirmed that Michael was indeed in town, but declined to give details as to the overall reason for his visit. In a statement surrounding the Michal Jackson Las Vegas visit, Wishna revealed to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, "Yes, he's here, and yes, we're working on projects. But we're not willing to disclose anything." Even with confirmation from Wishna and without official word from Michael Jackson himself, the latest media rumors suggest that Michael is in town to possibly follow in the footsteps of Celine Dion and Prince with an exclusive ongoing live show on the famed Las Vegas Strip. The idea of Michael headlining a gig in Sin City isn't a new concept, as Wishna apparently pitched the idea of a live Vegas show back in March 2005, while the Jackson was still heavily involved in his defense during the now famous child-molestation trial. Although Jack Wishna may have had the idea for Michael to play Vegas, billionaire Donald Trump was the first to publicly suggest that Michael play a number of gigs in Las Vegas upon the completion of his trial in order to reclaim his star status and get back out into the public eye. At the time, though, reports of a possible Michael Jackson move to Las Vegas were soon put to rest as Jackson headed off to Bahrain to recover from the trial. Shortly after the trial, Michael Jackson resident status in America was thrown into question when Michael's father, Joe Jackson suggested that his son would never live in the U.S. again, because of the way he was treated by the media and the courts. Lately, though, time may have healed harsh wounds, as even though Michael Jackson hasn't returned to his beloved Neverland Ranch, the King of Pop is back in his home country and once again stateside, this time in Las Vegas. US Weekly reports that Michael Jackson, along with nine-year-old Prince Michael I, eight-year-old daughter Paris, and four-year-old son Prince Michael II... "have moved into a gated Spanish-style mansion on the west side of Las Vegas." Although Michael Jackson may be back on top in the near future and Las Vegas does seem like a perfect fit for the world renowned entertainner, Fox News' Roger Friedman reports that Jackson's arrival in Las Vegas may have something to do with his close friends in the Middle East, "Sources do tell me that Jackson’s return to Las Vegas has something to do with his old pal, Prince Jefri of Brunei. This is not Prince Abdullah of Bahrain or Prince Alaweed of Saudi Arabia." Although fans have been waiting for Michael to make a triumphant return to the music scene, which seemed to be getting closer to fruition earlier this year as the King of Pop was reportedly laying down tracks while in Ireland, Jackson's financial troubles have continued. The latest chapter in Michael Jackson's money woes came down on Friday when the moon-walking entertainer filed suit against his former accountants, Bernstein, Fox, Whitman, Goldman & Sloan. In the lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Michael claims that the firm withdrew $2.5 million from his accounts each year, but failed to pay bills as instructed. The suit also goes on to state that the company hired employees without his consent and paid their salaries with his money, in addition to entering into business deals without his knowledge. Michael Jackson (a.k.a. The King of Pop) has been one of the most successful artists in the history of the music industry, with such hits as "Billie Jean", "Beat It", "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'", "Thriller", "Bad", "Man in the Mirror" and "Black or White." Jackson's Thriller album became the best-selling album of all time and ihn recent years has also released HIStory - Past, Present and Future, Book I and several other compilation CDs. Michael Jackson's last studio album was the 2001 offering Invincible, which went #1 in 8 countries and sold 11 million copies worldwide. Altogether, Jackson has sold upwards of 185 million records with Epic Records.
December 28, 200618 yr Good news, but I don't think he will be able to perform for an entire gig considering he was'nt even able to do any dance moves at the world music awards and look how frail he looks :( btw, those 'Invincible' sales figures are wa too high. It has sold 7 million max. -_-
December 30, 200618 yr Invincible debuted at number one in the majority of record markets around the world including Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Hong Kong, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, Turkey and of course the UK & USA. Current sales are around 8 million which is a once in a lifetime achievement by most artists standards but a huge disappointment by MJ's previous record-breaking sales.
