UK Chart Run: 1-2-2-1-3-2-2-2-3-4-10-15-17-20-26-30-40-43-61-73 (20 weeks)

After her huge 1994 #1 hit Think Twice, Celine Dion hit the top 20 with every subsequent single release but with no further chart-toppers. That was to be until early 1998 and with the assistance of a certain reasonably successful film. Despite initially disliking the song, it became her signature hit, topping charts all around the world. In the UK it debuted at the top with over 200,000 sales and went on to become the second best-selling single of the year and made her the first female soloist to have multiple million-selling singles.

Spice Girls.

Goodbye is one of their weakest singles.

Aww, I think Goodbye is wonderful (maybe not a surprise x). I find it very rousing and emotional. Mel B’s “look for the rainbow in every storm” part is one of the best Spice Girls moments for me!

It felt massive at the time so I find it a bit of a shame that it’s become relatively forgotten about in the streaming age (I’ll blame it on it being the last track on both Forever & Greatest Hits). The 90s ended with it being their 4th best selling single out of 9, outselling every single from Spiceworld!

Goodbye is the worst single the Spice Girls ever released

In a singles run including Headlines?!

Could not choose between No Matter What or Ghetto Superstar at first... tactically went for Boyzone after scrolling the thread lol!
