Posted April 7, 200619 yr thanks to BC The Greatest Show ... and the Greatest Snow on Earth! Xscape Scotland’s newest and coolest entertainment destination at Braehead Glasgow opens its doors on Thursday 6th April 2006. To celebrate, Xscape is inviting everyone to a glittering FREE launch event. Come and see live performances by Dannii Minogue and the chart-topping Orson. But that’s not all – you’ll be entertained by the Kings of Swing Big Band, you’ll be thrilled by Flaming Fun with their unique dance show including spinning, twirling, and fire breathing and you’ll be dazzled by the silk aerial artists. Handsome Glasweigan Darius will count down to the opening before a spectacular fireworks display over the Clyde and a carnival procession that will lead members of the public into the brand new building where the fun will continue with face painting, stilt walkers, magicians, acrobats, and much more. As if that were not enough, everyone will be able to experience the fun of the aerial assault course, the climbing wall, the giant robot arm, the fan drop and bowling. After all that, you can relax, do a spot of shopping and enjoy dinner or a drink in any one of the bars and restaurants. The entertainment will end at 9pm but the fun will go in within Xscape until late. The event starts at 6pm and guests are asked to arrive early and wrap up warm Edited April 10, 200619 yr by prettyinpink
April 7, 200619 yr OH MY ACTUAL GOD, IT WAS THAT?! ME AND SHARON WERE GOING TO GO TO THAT!!!! anyways, thank you :D
April 7, 200619 yr It sounds great. Wish I'd known about it. I might have gone. I definitely would have, if I'd known I'd get to see Darius. No doubt he was dog tired again after partying at Dressed to Kilt and then flying home. Just his luck! Hope he gets some R&R with the family today. I think the schools are on holiday so he should get time with Cyrus.
April 7, 200619 yr Author never ceases to amaze me how many events and appearances we miss because we are never told about them!
April 7, 200619 yr yea, he did the scottish baftas as well, didnt he? I got a text from James who was working at it saying "oh, by the way, Im in the same room as Darius..."
April 7, 200619 yr We will have to get Darius to register on here and then he can tell us where he is going to be.
April 7, 200619 yr Fireworks? I've just realised I heard them last night. I couldn't decide if it was thunder in the distance or fireworks. Oh now I do feel like kicking myself.
April 8, 200619 yr I'll have to take a trip down to Xscape and find out what it's all about. For some reason, the description is making me think of the Millennium Dome. I might combine it with a tour of Clyde Built, the shipbuilding exhibition. I've been to the shopping centre thousands of times but never gone into it and it's literally next door. I'll keep an eye on regional press and mags but don't hold your breath, their articles are often about events months before.
April 10, 200619 yr Author Braehead Xscape is now OPEN for snow business In a spectacular fashion the new indoor real snow slope in Glasgow opened at Braehead on 6th April 2006. Celebrities and VIP guests watched skiers and snowboarders demonstrating on the slope and a few took to the piste for a taster before the live music provided by Darius, Danni Minogue and Orson. there is a lovely picture of Darius too. if anyonce could post it here thanks again to BC on .net
April 10, 200619 yr I'm glad he was singing there. http://www.snsc.demon.co.uk/news/xscape004.jpg Lynn Sharp, Scottish and British Team skier with Darius
April 10, 200619 yr Why is he appearing at things without our community being told in advance  There are many who would have gone to these events as they live in the area, I can't believe no-one could manage to send just 1 email to the .net site  They must have been aware of these things months ago :(
April 10, 200619 yr My guess is on this occasion it was a last minute thing on his part but I do agree with what B.P says, but that is surely part of his management job to inform Net, is he with the same management I ask.
April 10, 200619 yr Perhaps he didn't confirm in case there were problems getting back from New York so soon. The organisers could hardly announce him if they were unsure he'd make it. I admit I do blame Brilliant19 for not keeping fans informed but that's because the two official site never kept up with .net re upcoming events. I always looked at .net/.org first. It's a shame I don't have the power to do a Tru Calling and re-run the day.
April 10, 200619 yr The info on the website didn't give any clue that Darius actually performed there either did it - but I'm glad to know he did though - would love to know what and how it went etc...
