Gonna give a miss to writing full commentary again but maybe next week x

Week 16:

1 'Chemical' 8.5/10

2 'Try Me' 8/10

3 'Princess Diana' 7.5/10 - Nicki drags it down to probably a 7/10 but I'll give it the score for the solo version

4 'Wish You The Best' 7.5/10

5 'J'Adore' 6/10

6 'Giving Me' 6/10

7 'Daylight' 5/10

8 'Karma' 1/10

9 'Feels This Good' 0.5/10

Voted for the top 4 - I think the Jorja song will probably grow on me more, Lewis' has already been a grower with a second listen, definitely the best song from this era so far. On the other hand the Taylor and Sigala songs are both even worse than I remember them being if anything oop x (Caity Baser is now 3 for 3 on hits that I'd rate 0.5/10 at most, although it's not really her fault this time, you can hardly tell she's on this one. Just the rest of the song still sucks for different reasons). Still yet to be won over by David Kushner but this was better than his other top 40 hit at least.

Week 17:

1 'See You Again' 9/10

2 'Boat' 9/10

3 'Mermaids' 9/10

4 'Haegeum' 8.5/10

5 'Tony Soprano 2' 8/10

6 'Double Fantasy' 7.5/10

7 'Alone' 6.5/10

8 'Dancing Is Healing' 6/10

9 'Twust' I don't want to live on this planet any more/10

With the one obvious exception this is maybe the highest quality week so far tbh - voted for the whole top 6 and even 'Alone' was a lot better than I expected, and the Rudimental one while pretty nondescript was still listenable. Can definitely see Ed and Florence's songs growing on me more as well ('Boat' is so much more what I was hoping for from this era which is promising for the rest of the album). 'Haegeum' is a banger, by far the best of the solo BTS intake that's charted this year so far, I really liked 'Daechwita' from him before too. 'Tony Soprano 2' is probably the best song I've heard to date from Nines, I don't tend to gravitate so much to these kind of hookless lyrical-focused UK rap tracks but something about this one did stand out more than usual (maybe just it having so many quality punchlines in it). The Tyler song is one I definitely should have heard before - and I think I may have heard bits of it before, the Kali hook sounded familiar - but glad to have finally got around to hearing it properly now, thanks TikTok x

New threads up shortly B-)

...although after submitting my votes, I see that after avoiding tied winners for 15 weeks, we have a tied winner in both polls this week

I think I'll include both winners in the future OPs but, for what it's worth, I'll use the UK public as the tiebreaker for autoqualifier status in the monthly round (i.e. Post Malone and The Weeknd getting the slots, though of course Taylor and Florence both qualify for the monthly round anyway in this case)
