It's 2 weeks on top for Reverend & The Makers letter to my 21-year-old self, holding off Miley Cyrus's return to the runners-up spot with the fab synth chords of Jaded. Jungle get their 3rd top 5 leaping to 4 with Candle Flame, a terrific dance track that has an amazing one-shot dance video, and a fab rap from Erick The Architect. The band has been going for 9 years, is consistently good throughout, and is long overdue a breakthrough into the mainstream. Miley Cyrus manages 2 top 10's simultaneously as River joins Jaded, and Oliver Heldens gets a first top 10 and gifts another for Kylie to add to her massive list of top 10's - I've not got a complete list yet but it's at least 50.

 

Bebe Rexha and Snoop Dogg have a great jump into the top 20, Snoop mainly guest raps these days, but he's still had regular top 20 chart visits for 30 years now. A massive list of tracks are climbing, as I've had to expand my charts to 90 accommodate a batch of World Record day oldies returning to my charts, notably Althia & Donna's Uptown Top Ranking, which has never been back since going top 5 when I was at Uni 45 years ago. Gulp!

 

Meanwhile Texas return, a mere 34 years on from their debut, at 75 with After All, Dusty Springfield charts an uncharted 70's disco track, Marvin Gaye an uncharted 60's soul track, Soft Cell have another chart go with another uncharted track - off the new album, so that'll be a chart span of 42 years then! Boy George is on 41 years courtesy of a guest spot on album-chart-toppers The Lottery Winners, Garbage cover Siouxsie & The Banshees 1985 chart-topper (for me) Cities In Dust for a 27-year-run of chart entries, and finally Harry Belafonte creeps in with a track that would have been high in my theoretical early 1960's charts, being as it was on dad's Harry Belafonte 50's hits album - Day-O. Still calypso fun.

I really can't get into Jaded but it's good that you're enjoying it.

I'm happy to see I wrote a song continuing to climb. I do reckon a top 10 placing is on the cards for this, this year. I've seen a few people noticing that it seems the UK has definitely been putting the effort in the last couple years too.

Raincatchers is so underrated. She's actually been doing some really descent music this era.

I'm glad that river is continuing it's ascent as well. I really donfijd it to be much better than Flowers too!

I'm still surprised that tattoo hasn't really taken off here.

I'm also surprised that miracle hasn'tanaged to smash here in any sort of capacity. Shocked really.

Be My Lover was a Florida holiday hit for me, and then it charted in the UK so had a good run - I actually prefer the remix though, some fab stereo sound effects, which is unheard of these days...

I really can't get into Jaded but it's good that you're enjoying it.

I'm happy to see I wrote a song continuing to climb. I do reckon a top 10 placing is on the cards for this, this year. I've seen a few people noticing that it seems the UK has definitely been putting the effort in the last couple years too.

Raincatchers is so underrated. She's actually been doing some really descent music this era.

I'm glad that river is continuing it's ascent as well. I really donfijd it to be much better than Flowers too!

I'm still surprised that tattoo hasn't really taken off here.

I'm also surprised that miracle hasn'tanaged to smash here in any sort of capacity. Shocked really.

It's the chords on jaded that I love most, they hit the right spot :lol: that and singing "I'm sorry that you're jaded" loudly to annoy the neighbours (friends of mine so it's OK). :lol:

 

I saw the Raincatchers video this week, Birdy is so good! Plus she was in Liverpool on stage, pity I missed seeing that live! Rivers is still growing for me, I liked Flowers but I never really got it like some of Miley's tracks have grabbed me over the last few years :o

 

Spoke too soon, I saw Loreen perform Tattoo this week and it's leaped up :lol: Miracle is good, I do like it, but it's not a patch on All By Myself for me, that's her forgotten (already) classic.
