The first Gay UK dating/ reality show… Anyone watched the first couple of eps?

Really enjoyed them and it’s good that they’ve actually got different types of guys on there and they haven’t gone down the route of Love Island Of basically one size fits all.

Shame episode 2 ended on a cliffhanger, but it was expected.

The BBC is strong atm for reality tv what with this, Race Across the World and The Traitors.

Jokes aside, I will say that any attempt on a gay dating show tends to fall into the same trap - they tend to try to make homosexuals fit into a heterosexual pattern. Which is obviously very dumb.

Maybe this will be different, I dunno. Dannii's there and she's just the greatest hag there is.

I was keen for this until I saw the contestants. Not for me.
I hadn't bagged this as being my cup of tea at all but watched episodes 1 and 2 this morning on a whim whilst looking for something to watch and I was actually enjoying it? Like yes, some of the things they're coming out with are highly stereotypical but actually it has shown a softer side to gay dating and how there are actually some who geneuinely do just want a meaningful relationship. At the end of it all, it's a dating show made for BBC Three so it's not going to set the world alight but it's actually refreshing for the BBC (and UK TV in general) to put something like this out. Mikey aside (definitely just thrown a cat amongst the pigeons for the lols), the dynamics of the group so far is great and I'm rooting for Ollie and Ben.

So they're all skanks?

Yeah definitely... I'm guessing he's going to end up picking..

Josh

I'd rather he went the other way though.

I wasn't a fan of Ollie to begin with as he just seemed so guarded - but he was good to see he sort of upped his game with Ben - given he was so in demand.

  • 3 weeks later...

So the finale is already available on iPlayer (just like all episodes have been each week) ahead of its BBC Three broadcast

Very happy that the 4 remaining couples all turned for each other. When their friends and family arrived to meet everyone and watch the final ceremony it was really sweet. A shame Ben and Matty had to exit but the others' decision for voting them out was warranted. I'll be interested to see if anyone actually survived post-show (I'm really rooting for Dan and Ollie). There is a reunion episode on its way.

Some of us are stereotypical! I have the opposite problem these days, everyone seems to want to be and to date against type 🙃

Intrigued by this, the bonus of course of same sex (or even bisexual) dating is the option of exponentially increasing the possible pairings!
