They've spoken about their decision to leave Parlophone in a new interview:

 

“By the time of the second album, we were expected to do marketing jobs rather than be musicians,” says the band’s singer Jack Cochrane. “We went into a boardroom where someone held up their phone and flicked through examples of how many videos pop stars posted each week, what time they posted them, which demographic was connecting with which content. And I thought, whatever happened to making the music you wanted to make?” They dealt with the situation by escaping Parlophone and going their own way. “Being in a band is about doing the heavy lifting, driving the van, working hard to get out of the nine to five,” Cochrane says. “We decided, faced with the alternative, to carry on with the heavy lifting.”
