I think out of all of them I like Mariah the best, so I voted her ^_^

Popular Culture began with The Beatles..... Anyone who does not vote for them is in denial of that fact, it goes way beyond how many weeks someone spent at No 1.... I've never really been that big a fan of The Beatles' music, but I wont deny their importance....

I agree The Beatles are the most vitally important, but to be honest, I think Whitney's voice beats (or did beat) everyone else in that list.

 

So she's mine ... but none of them are my fave of all time.

I voted for Michael Jackson because he did the greatest achievement in music and broke the greatest records ever..

he's the most successful artist of all time (Guinness) and he has the best selling album ever "thriller" which sold over 104 million copies world wide, and countless other records..

I think he's the best artist ever..

i dont know who to vote for as im not a big fan of any,il have to have a think before i vote

As a Mariah fanatic, I vote for Mariah. ^_^

Madonna is my favourite of those.

They paved the way for female artists IMO.

No brainer........ The Beatles.

 

But where the hell are Bob Dylan or David Bowie on that list?

 

After all, Bob Dylan was voted the most influencial person of the 20th Century by Rolling Stone magazine in 1999, while David Bowie was voted the most influencial artist of the 20th Century by NME experts/Rock stars/Readers in 2000.

 

I would say the Top10 Greatest Artists ever should contain:

 

1. The Beatles

2. David Bowie

3. Bob Dylan

4. Elvis Presley

5. Madonna

6. Rolling Stones

7. Frank Sinatra

8. Led Zeppelin

9. Michael Jackson

10. Prince

I'm not interested in sales, hits etc, blah blah, Elvis, Bob Dylan and The Beatles, between them, changed the whole face of music and inspired millions of musicians and artists.

Its really tough though I wouldn't include Janet Jackson in it. For me it is between The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley and Elton John though in the end I've gone for Elton John followed by Michael Jackson a close second.

I'd say that's a fairly accurate list.

Michael Jackson gets my vote.

Absolute legends such as Bowie, Dylan, Sinatra and the Rolling Stones are'nt on the list - yet Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson are..? :lol: :rolleyes:

 

Out of the list I have went fir the Beatles. Michael Jackson being a close second. ^_^
