Well the singles sales, are mostly based on points of radio airplay, so it would've mostly come out of the US since it was the most played song on US radio. She has only really had that one big hit though, whereas Madona has 2 singles in the top 10 and the best selling album by a female :P

Mediatraffic goes mainly by radio airplay. For example, Leona's 'A Moment Like This' sold well over 500,000 in the UK alone last week yet according to Mediatraffic it only did 159,000. So it obviously does not go by mostly sales. -_- Also, although I am not a Madonna fan, I think it is pretty ridiculous to suggest her reign is over because Shakira had one huge hit. If in over 20 years time Shakira can release an album that reaches #1 in over 40 countries and sell over 8 million then you may have a point. But for the moment Madonna is clearly in no danger whatsoever of being dethroned :rolleyes:
