"They call it butterflies" - I admit I'm feeling nervous for Darius, although all his interviews seem to indicate he's not concerned about the singing or acting, just perhaps the dancing and only really the somewhat complicated Havana scene.

Sky has to dance in the Havana scene. On stage he usually has a choreographed routine for Luck Be A Lady, but Brando didn't in the film. However, the choreographer and dance captain must be aware of D's capabilities by now and I'm sure they'll only ask him to do moves he's proved he can do over and over. Shaun Williamson was given the option not to dance if he chose. He does, although he's said that he dances like a dalek. I trust Darius will be a little more natural.

Incredible!

Absolutely brilliant ......................and Sean moved quite well for such a big guy. He was game to dance with the crapshooters.

I felt sorry for Sean both times at the stage door, he was mostly overlooked. The attention was all on a tall, dark guy.

aww, I imagine Shaun and Darius make quite the pair on stage. I can see it adding to the comedy value a bit.

the picture I saw Shaun was also signing next to Darius, perhaps he thought everyone was there to see him...would be lovely to hear how they are getting along, and if Shaun expected Darius to be so good?? if he had any preconceived ideas changed.

editing to add, sorry off topic..my song of the day is Colourblind!

They're not on stage much together. Shaun's scenes are mainly with Adelaide and the gangsters, and Darius's with Sarah's crowd and sometimes with Benny Southstreet and Nicely Nicely Johnson.

At first I thought Shaun was a bit gruff sounding, somewhat like Bob Hoskins in the National Theatre production rather than Sinatra in the film.

I must have got used to it though, because it didn't jar after the first couple of scenes.

It sounded the same as all the other gamblers. On the whole I thought this cast were far better at sustaining their accents than some performers in Chicago. Maybe that's because the accents of Miss Adelaide, Nathan and the gamblers are meant to be really exaggerated, perhaps better to underline that they belong to Runyon's underclass.

Those of Sky, Sarah and the missionaries are more normal ones. Sarah is meant to be middle class and it's got to be believable that she could be hopelessly attracted to Sky.

I really liked Shaun. He seems such a lovely person as well. He's as approachable as D is. I was very impressed and liked the 4 of them together. they seemed to make a really good team. I'd go and see any of the 4 leads again. Darius and Shaun most though. I'd never seen Shaun in anything and he was so good. The differences between the pair were so good. I liked the scene where sky is talking to Nathan and uses his shoulder to put his elbow on. Four weeks just isn't very long.

The "cider in the ear" story - their first and probably longest scene together and a rare moment when Darius gets some funny lines to deliver, plus he needs perfect physical timing to get the hat in place. I absolutely loved the expressions on Shaun's face as he struggled to remember, couldn't, and had to concede.

They made a great contrasting but complementary pair and I'd have loved to have seen them together in more scenes.

I'll be keeping an eye on what Shaun's doing and I would definitely travel to London/Manchester etc.(anywhere there's a direct route) to see him in a play or musical, if I thought it was unlikely to come up to Scotland.

It surprise me how difficult Liverpool is to get to. Even from Blackburn it was two slow trains. paying for the parking is worse though. The first day cost me £13 and it would have been £18 if I hADN'T TAKEN IT OUT AT 6PM AND GONE BACK IN.

Its even bad to get into when you live down the road.

I hope its not to bad tomorrow for everyone.

Whoops I forgot my song which is "Journeys end"

With all the UK and European millions poured into Liverpool since the early 90's riots and its drive for tourism, someone in government or councils ought to have given some thought to the infrastructure and ease of access.

I'll have to go with Rushes. It goes with all the buzz of this week and all the anticipation I'm building for Edinburgh.

I agree with that interviewer who told Darius it was a cracking song and it should have been another number one for him.
