I do love 'Rushes'. I'll share it with you, if you don't mind. Loved the video as well. Roll on Edinburgh.

It's funny, I hated that one at first. To me it was a typical West End Musical type of song. Now I like it - just as well as he now seems to be doing West End musical type of shows.

that was mine earlier today

but suddenly its now or never, the melody has gotten in my head being as its on the musicplayer list!!

Simple Like The Truth

Seeing Darius again after a long absence, I've been struck by the aura of perfect contentment surrounding him. He seems to have a life which is totally in balance and the genuine pleasure he exhibits talking about the simplest things is such a joy and inspiration. Thank God LA hasn't screwed him up but apparently done the reverse.

Do you think he'd write a life coach manual and let others into his secret(s)?

He would probably excell at that too, he does Reki doesnt he? is that the spelling

I could see him calming down those troubled stars in LA rather than them unbalancing him, he has such an calming reassuring aura about him

I didn't have much time the other night but good friends led me to the stage door after the show, just to see Darius.

He came out really quickly but there were people I didn't recognise waiting for him and I don't think it's fair for me to approach him before them.

In fact I only saw him from a distance and I didn't wait very long, but I did see the couple who'd been sitting next to me, taking their little daughter of about 6 or 7, I'd judge, to meet Darius. He was just his wonderful self. That must have made the night for her. She'd been practically jumping with excitement during the show, but not at all in a disruptive way. Her mother looked pretty eager too!

Song for today - Tear Run Dry just cos it's still a favourite and Preston mentioned the piano background in a post about 'No More'

Isnt that a fantastic song

I found it on youtube but not a patch on Louise and Darius.

Its a shame we cant get a copy of them.

I'd like to hear how Darius would sing the song concert style, because in the show he sings his first part with an emotional catch in his voice. The tough gambler who think all dolls are the same and totally disposable, has been overwhelmed by a deep and unknown emotion - love. It's very clever and touching. No wonder several critics have picked this song out as a highlight, although there's no gimmick, no big routine and the stage is quite poorly lit because it's supposed to be four o'clock in the morning.

Lousie Dearman is a wonderful singer and in the actual duet part of the song the two voices work so well together. I especially love the end part, where Darius is singing higher than Louise.

I'm still singing it.

It's really touch my emotions.

I can see every move.....that scene was just wonderful.

The emotion in Darius' voice

The way they walked round each other, the swaying at the start of the dance.

They just worked so well together.....very believable :)

I have to see the show as many times as I can to try to set it in my memory, so I'm off to tomorrow's matinee.

It's much harder to remember D's scenes than in Chicago. I could have been his prompter.

My song is "No More". Been giving it extra listens today.

I like the song but there doesn't seem to be a hook that I find myself humming/singing. Maybe it's more of a grower.

"Laughing In The Rain"

It's been raining on and off and now it's thundery here and there are huge black clouds but I'm not going to let rotten weather get to me.

Apart from that song and No More, which I found myself humming at the hairdressers today, the song that I keep singing one tiny phrase of is "Marry The Man Today".

BTW I found the script of Guys and Dolls on the net and although it's slightly different, it is the stage show and not the film script. Just reading through it I could see Darius's every move.
